"There is an update available. Please shutdown and run the patcher".

Where do I find the patcher.

The title and the first line are what I get after I type in my password to enter thr game. If I go into windows, the only option I have is to uninstall the game. Is there a patcher somewhere that I can use to update the game?

Are you logging in through Stream or directly with the normal patcher? For the normal patcher, when you click on the shortcut, that is the patcher that has the Patch/Play button on it, it is the first screen that pops up, way before getting to the actual log in screen.

I do not have it off of steam. And when I click the desk top Icon, the loading screen just says Play. When I get to the log in screen, I type in my password and get the rror above. No place prior to the login screen says patch.

I have two more bootstraps and one more patcher, and they all show the same thing - I am up to date, but the startup module says I need to update, and will not start the game. The only thing I did differently was that I bought the Kodiak yesterday afternoon. But since it is not out yet, I do not see how that would impact this.

First, reboot computer if you have not done so yet. Okay, so there was a hotfix on Monday, 2/22/16. On the screen that says Play, dont click Play but click on the twin cogs upper right corner and start the Repair tool and run it. It took a bit for the validation to complete.

And if you have not, I would suggest also sending PGI a support ticket too.
