I am of course talking about the Yardsale warhorn. Sounds great--perfect, even. Just butt ugly and feels so out of place. If PGI did hex version of all the non-Clan warhorns, I would gladly spend my MCs on multiple Yardsale.

Can I mount my warhorns outside of my cockpit, please?
I would not place horns in the cockpit blasting me in the face every time it went off.

Same thing with my favorite one. Classic Isobaric.
The sound is just this awesome, eerie horn, but the model is this ugly looking brown and yellow speaker, that's just... Ugh...

I wish i could at least hide the warhorn model and keep the sound only.

Maybe after they read this they will offer to give you the sound and remove the warhorn "for only 300 MC".

Most of the horns actually look pretty godawful, really...they just sound better than they look, when they manage to go off, that is.

I agree with the OP. I'd buy/use more Warhorns if they weren't so visually large and ridiculously immersion-breakingly wannabe humorous.

My least favourite though are the Phoenix-themed warhorns. A warhorn with feathers. I hope the intern that came up with that got counselling.

My favorites : Sonic boom, kikers , yard sale, pressure chamber ... and maybe others

Well in fact lots of warhorns are pretty nice maybe clan wolf and clan ghost bear warhorns are not really nice.

The Comstar warhorn is less "War of the Worldsy", but still a damn solid warhorn. Not a bad alternative if you don't want boxes of Kleenex heralding your combat prowess.

For real, if I could replace the Yardsale warhorn visuals with the neutral circular things that they're using for most of the faction warhorns, I would instantly buy several of them.

I love the sound, I hate the visuals.

Uhmm...the best sounding war horn does not even have a visual asset in the cockpit....it is outside...the Heavy Metal

I like the War of the World types. Makes it sound really menacing. I just wish that they'd run a special so that if you bought a bunch, you could get them at reduced prices. Also, would be nice if some of them were a lot smaller; they should never be bigger than the circular/hex war horns or they end up restricting your field of vision.

I think the Isobaric is the best sounding and i think that it's warhorn design is supposed to be an old radio to reference the radio airing of "War of the Worlds" by Orson Welles. so it's not particularly ugly. but the Yardsale one also sounds great and haunting but ugly. like what is it supposed to be? looks like a submarine bulkhead door on a vinyl padded box of some kind. since all the non-faction warhorns have a design based on the associated sound. Yardsale is the odd one. and even the name.

I too, am a fan of yardsale, and in fact it is the only one that has has me consider spending MC on to purchase additionals.

Now, that is not to say I dislike the rest. Really, the only one I could say i "do not enjoy" is the envious ear one, there is just somthing forced and off pitch on it that annoys me.

Urbie, the faction ones etc are all nice. I actually really like the Marik one also, my second favorite really, makes me chuckle if I pull off some multi kills and it chains :)

But yeah, IMO the best way for the non-faction horns to work would be to pic a visual(which would be the name, like yard sale with related visual) and then be able to assign whatever sound from any of the non faction horns you wanted. That way if you like the silly ones, you can use them, but then put a diff sound with them. If you like one of the sounds from a silly one, but want a generic looking box for it, that could happen too.

Faction stuff should be locked though, IMO there is somthing to be said about a faction's unity etc using the same visual and sound. Imagine a Ghost Bear visual in a new Kodiak and it plays a Liao sound..... IMO they should remain purely faction content vs the generic others.
