It's not whining, it's feedback. When you have a thread filled with negative/ambivalent comments about a sale, then you know it's probably a bad idea to run that kind of sale again.

Unless you're PGI. Then you don't learn from your mistakes, you just keep doing the same thing over and over, hoping one day it'll have a different result.... Like even having a thread for people to post about an MC sale, when every one they've ever had has met this same response. A universal "meh" from the community.

Weird stuff.

Not so weird. Forums are filled with bile most of the time, and often do not reflect the majority of players feelings.

Agreed - feedback is a good thing. But most is not feedback, but the whining I referred to above. Often I question why I read the forums.

You give PGI too little credit. They are quite aware of how effective or ineffective a sale is. They have historical data to tell them when a sale worked out. They try different things - this is probably the quickest we've seen a sale on new chassis. Yes the discount isn't deep, if it were it would be treated as an insult to those who bought the pack, or bought for full MC when they debuted. They continually put chassis unlock skins on sale, guess what? People are buying them. If they weren't, the sales would move to something else.

Somebody buys in on these sales.

Every sale can't be a blockbuster. Otherwise nobody would buy stuff when not on sale. Heck, I'm already one of the latter! :)

I won't be buying anything from this sale. But I never buy chassis for MC outside of Heros, so I'm not the intended audience here. I'm looking forward to getting both the Mauler and Black Knight, but it will be for cbills. I have enough on the go already, I can wait for a cbill sale.

Does that mean those mechs on sale have discount when buying them with MC as well as C-bills ?

Anyway too bad, since maybe I would only get one of those. I've run out of mechbays... Posted Image

Wasn't strictly true, as you can't buy the Higlhnader IIc, shame really from P.G.I's point of view as I would probably have cracked and bought it for MC, now I'll just wait for the C-bill version, as I'll have to much to grind for a month or two

Would you think that might make the ghost Bear that's 20$ a worthy expenditure then by comparison ?

And what about the special variants in the bundles/mastery packs? Are the gift shop or in game versions a better buy in that regard ? I'm mostly interested in the Stalker, Cicada, and maybe Jenner.

I think $20.00 is a reasonable expenditure IF EARLY ADOPTER REWARDS PURCHASE ARE USED.

Consider this if bought separately with no discounts:

3 mech bays at 300MC each would cost you $1.50 each = Total $4.50

30 days premium time currently at 2500MC = $10.00

Early adopter Clan Ghost Bear Camo Pattern currently at 1500 MC for ALL STANDARD VARIANTS and future purchases of variants of same Chassis = $7.50

Grand Total = $22.00 (That is without the Mech itself)

Also Cockpit Items have some $US dollar amounts not included in the calculations....you would be getting total of 6 cockpit items with the $20 package and early adopter bonus
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3 Kodiak Mechs with 400XL engines...400XL Engines alone are expensive = about 6,500,000 CBills Each = Total about 19,500,000 CBILLs

Based on 100 Tons, Direwolf will be used as comparison.
Direwolf with Engine as a comparison about = 17,000,000 CBILLs Each
Direwolf WITHOUT ENGINE as a comparison about = 11,000,000 CBILLS EACH

Lets say for the Low Value, KODIAK WITHOUT ENGINE is about 11,000,000 Cbills Each = 3 bought with package = Total 33,000,000 CBILLS

Mech Modules
Radar Deprivation 6,000,000 CBills
Target Gather 4,000,000 CBills
UAC 20 Cool Down 3,000,000 CBills
ER Med Laser Cooldown 3,000,000 CBills

Mech Modules Total = 16,000,000 CBills

Early adopter game currency 6,500,000 Cbills

Grand total for CBILLS about 75,000,000 + Cbills

Other form of Entertainment in Comparison....going to the movies for Adult ticket to see the DEAD POOL MOVIE cost about $10.00 Each (in my location)...taking a CHICK to see it another $10....= $20.00 for 2 Hours of Entertainment watching the movie. Haven't seen the movie by the way. Additional Costs for Popcorn and Drinks....MEEEH...I sneak in Beef Jerky, chips, and soda cans. The Stupid Popcorn and Drinks would probably cost $20 with the sky rocket price at the theaters. LMAO

Factor how long would it take you to generate 75,000,000 CBILLS by grinding and decide if this $20 Mech Pack would be worth purchasing. How many hours do you spend playing versus work to come up with $20? This game shouldn't feel like WORK...IT IS A GAME to have fun and BLOW THINGS UP.

I have pretty much done a GOOD SALES PITCH IMO for the $20 Kodiak Pack from PGI.

I only want PGI to create a 100 TON ATLAS with 16 WEAPON HARD POINTS....make it all Machine guns....or FLAMERS.
16 Weapons PLEASE...MORE GUNS MORE GUNS. Weapon Hard point Locations 4 Left Torso, 3 Right Torso, 2 Center Torso, 1 HEAD-Eye Socket, 2 Left Arm, 2 Right Arm, 2 Left Leg on the Hip.

Hey PGI, if you want to reward me...I will take a GOLD DIREWOLF, GOLD TIMBERWOLF, and GOLD STORM CROW. My 3 favorite Clan MECHS.

I disagree Spadejack...I feel that the 2c pkg was worth it, even though the jenners are a ***** to work up... but I do agree with those saying that the current sale isn't worth it, and that it leaves alot to be desired... Appogee and Cranky Puppy: well done on your memes

I bought Hunchback 2c yesterday, 3 of them.
Interesting that they are 1 million C bills more than the Jenner 2c and are medium class mechs...maybe they are priced wrong.
These mechs have CLAN XL ENGINES but can use Standard Engines. INNER-SPHERE XL ENGINES ARE NOT COMPATIBLE.....GRRRRRRR PGI.....GRRRRRRRR.

I did by the Kodiak Pack and got the Early Adopter Package. Buyers remorse has not kicked in yet.

Why would you want IS XL? Hunchie IICs play well with Clan XL, just the B variant is the tough one.

So as to not incur a -20% hit to all engine-related mechanics when errant "friendly" fire takes off a side torso from the rear.

Issue. With a standard engine IIC mechs cannot carry enough 'other stuff' to fight in their weight class against IS mechs due to the quirkium armor plate many have been retrofitted with.

But if you load in an IS XL you *die* to that side torso loss instead of slowing down. I can certainly tell you which ending I'd prefer!
