I'd pay real money for a Clan tech pack I could use in IS mechs. Two uAC10s and two ERMLs in a Rifleman, backed with their XL engine and as many heat sinks as I could stuff in after a reasonable amount of ammo. Fear the dakka.

And no, I don't mean a IIC. I mean the good old 3N. So I'm not limited to the public queue :) Besides, I don't like the big dome on the RFL-IIC.

Sadly it's not possible or you have to sacrifice too much. Sometimes I wish that certain IS Mechs were Clan.


I personally would not mind leaving the missile launchers on there even if I have no missiles. It just ain't as sexy without the missiles.

I really like the mauler though it does feel a bit soft. Torso only goes 70 degrees so shielding is kinda hard without actually turning the mech. CT takes a lot of dmg like an Ebon. No real buffs to structure so it cant really face tank well.

Ive tried several dakka builds (5ac5 4uac5) but that requires face tanking a huge unquirked CT. Those builds work at range but laser alpha meta wins all trades their

1p i run 2 lrm15a 2mpl 2lpl 4mgs.
1r i like the best. 2lpl 4asrm6 4mgs (dear god....thank you)

Mx90 really pissed me off for awhile so i tried somethin different.

1 ac20 2srm6 2 ac5. Has good screen shake and +25% range to the dakka and a holy hell AS7-D alpha

Good mech, does well enough, but needs some love

Yeah, couldn't agree more. I think it needs at least atlas level structure quirks. Realistically, i think the Mx90 could use ~ 20% ballistic cooldown on top of that.

The MAL didn't catch my eye from my short time with it.

It suffers from atlas hitboxes with none of the structure quirks to help and it's CT seems to take all the hits even when I twist, any other mech makes a better brawler in my opinion.

It mostly seems to play well at the mid to long range but it's just too squishy at close range.

Not a fan of the cockpit, don't like how it's got a laser on top of it's head.

1R with 4 x LRM-15 isn't a satisfying LRM loadout? I'm averaging 550 damage in mine.

I mean you can only take 2 energy weapons on the MAL-1R, and those are low mounted. Ballistics besides MGs are out of the question on IS LRM boats. The Warhawk on comparison, can bring a number of energy weapons alongside LRMs to the battlefield.

MY only gripe with them is the lack of "flavor" between the variants, i like them a lot but 3 or 4 uac or ac5's is the only thing i can run with success for the most part. Dual 20's is fun but i need a brawl group or you die fast in pug play.

Love to see one get good structure quirks too.
