I was thinking, instead of downloading a massive patch, why not redownloading everything in a new drive? Yea im running out of space on my SDD, and my HDD doesnt look so well....

How much space should a fresh install after the new patch would take??

My gamefiles for MWO in steam library are 10.1GB. With the upcoming HD textures and some other files in user directory.....12GB should be plenty.

we will not know for sure until after the patch, the game is currently 10GB and the new patch is 7GB that means a maximum of 17GB for a fresh install.

It will overwrite old texture files, so it won't be that big increase. So 12 sounds like ok

The increase in file size can be quite drastic for a good number of mechs. I'd say 14 is more likely.

A word of warning - when I was installing the game for the first time, the patcher first downloaded EVERYTHING, then unpacked and installed EVERYTHING, then it deleted downloaded install files. The game was about 9 gigs then, but 25 gigs of free disc space was not enough to finish the install... I had to make more room and then start from the beginning.

Dunno if it still is the case, but be warned.
