You know that this Mech is the sum of everything bad (good) in the game like boating and cockpit high hardpoints. Now let's see what it can do:
Kraken "teh real Dakka Boat!":
- 2x cUAC/10 (6t ammo)
- 3x cUAC/5 (8t ammo)
- Endo, Ferro, XL
375(65.3 kph), 10x DHS, -0.5t armor
No ghost heat. Won't be left behind like the Whale.
Kraken 3 "96 damage SRM Brawler":
- 8x cSRM6+A (11t ammo)
- Endo, XL
400(69.7 kph), 21x DHS
96 points of burst damage! Use two groups of SRMs with 4 SRMs each. Can alpha twice before overheating. It will vaporize lighter Mechs at short range.
Kraken 4 "It's nice back here!":
- 3x cLRM15+A (8t ammo)
- 2x cGauss (5t ammo)
- 1x cTAG
- Endo, XL
375(65.3 kph), 10x DHS, -0.5t armor
Honestly I'm not too sure what to do with this variant. This build just makes the most sense to me.
The way I see it, the lack of B+E hardpoint combo limits this Mech OP-ness and it's a good thing. To boat quad Gauss, the Kraken has to use a standard engine and then can only carry around 8 tons of ammo with a STD300, again limiting the cheesiness. Extreme LRM boating is possible but it can only bring short ranged missiles as backup - no light weight lasers. This Mech will certainly obsolete the DakkaWolf but just that. UAC/5 and /10 have GH and although they are small, the heat can add up surprisingly quick when you are not paying attention because of the ability to double tap.
So in conclusion, I think it's safe to release this 'Mech because it certainly still leaves some room for the other Assaults to exist. One thing is certain though, once it's crowned as the new Dakka King, nothing will take its place for a long time as far as I can tell.
EDIT: added hardpoints chart
Thanks to Widowmaker1981 for correcting me that the Bane will only be able to mount 360 rated engine max. I'm too lazy to rebuild them though, so I'll leave the (incorrect) builds as they are now.
