can walk over pebbles in 2016 yet a 30 foot Atlas in this game can't travel over the same pebbles in 3050

agreed although Russ did say they're working specifically on this issue for March roadmap if I'm not mistaken

Didn't have a problem until they put in the incline patch 2 years ago...I don't remember anyone whining about it either when they did patch it so I don't know why they did it..One of the reasons I quit playing assaults and started playing a Jenner at the time

Because Succession wars made walking straight a http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Lostech which is why we cannot have nice things. Either that or PGI has not thought of making pebbles smooth objects with transparent textures in places of cracks and crevices Posted Image

Yeah I am pretty sure the issue is that a pebble is actually a 90 deg slope, so even if it is only an inch tall the incline maths goes to pieces and you stop. March I think they are rolling out a fix to this terrible code issue.

Due to a recent discovery at the Comstar Institute of Science and Technology Heavy and Assault mechs will now have an easier time circumnavigating small rocks and twigs. This upgrade will be applied to all mechs, free of charge by March 15th. We thank you for your patience and apologise for any inconvienence that these small rocks and twigs may've caused you.

This robit can also use its hands to open doors. More Lostech, apparently.

NOPE!

According to the time stamps, you could only have been laughing 5 minutes between his post and yours. Therefore, his post was not worth your post, because you didn't laugh 10 minutes before posting! Posted Image

Short answer? Because PGI are game designers not robotics engineers.

I'm pretty sure there's a disconnect between MWO's map developers and the coders. For some reason they put collision meshes on all of these tiny objects which should have been purely decorative, and obviously that messes with the incline mechanics because I doubt it takes into account size or anything.

Hopefully the code changes help it determine what is actually a slope and what is a small object.

On a positive note, they pretty much nailed the excessive noise and whirring of gears and gyros. Sounds exactly like my Griffin torso twisting.
