okay so use that but with Kit Fox S (?) omnipods instead?

S legs on the splatfox are good if you want to missile poptart. They used to be more durable than the other legs, too, but now they're just more mobile.

So make em ECM snipers?

naw. Stay around 300-500m. If you stay close to an assault or a mech that is a bigger threat, you can deal lots of dmg. The KTFX also has good hitboxes (accept the arms are a tad too big) and thus spreads dmg well and is very survivable. (below 20% multiple times)

I'd disagree about the hitboxes. CT feels pretty big and in general the mech is massive for the weight. It's not terrible but far from what you want on a fat, slow 30 ton mech.

that's funny because I find it to spread damage well... maybe its just my way of piloting or something

It's big. There's no disputing that it's an oversized light mech. But despite its scaling issues, it's actually got extremely good hitbox SHAPES.

The KFX is almost spherical, with two rather large arms sticking out either side of the sphere. This gives it the Stalker syndrome, coupled with not one - but TWO - Centurion-style arms. In addition to this, it's very short, meaning that if you're driving it over rough terrain, you are very likely to dip out of sight inside a shallow crater, or behind a rock. It also has huge gaps in between the arms and its STs, which gives it the odd property that SRMs tend to partially miss against it, and PPCs often seem to go right through the mech. It's actually extremely easy to spread damage with it, the same way as a Stalker works.

Here's a Kit Fox Prime build i absolutely love. A single Ultra AC 20 with as much ammo as you can pack on. Downside is you only have 1 weapon and you run out of ammo somewhat fast but the if you stick with your team you'll probably be the last guy they'll be worried about. By the time they realize what your packing you'll have probably already unloaded about 80 damage worth of ordinance either killing or crippling your target. Then just fade to the rear of your team and wait for another opportunity.Posted Image

I stripped armor from the left arm as you really have nothing there you're using, some from the head (head shots on a Kit Fox have never happened to me) and just 2 or 3 from the legs and 1 from the CT. All to maximize the amount of ammo i can carry. Just be careful to protect that precious right arm and its cargo.

yea i run zero head armor on my locusts and kitfoxes, you are usually fine, but an arty strike can headhshot you without much trouble

imma go try that AC20 build now, time to wreak havoc :D

oh and remind me to load ecm and 3x ams on one of my kitfoxes so i can survive the archer tourney. I can see it now...
