I hope the Blue/Grey/Yellow scheme originally shown is a scheme on the special. I love the whole "Crescent Hawks mech company" thing from the early 90's games.

I was gonna say it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission but you have some good reasons to not do that too.

Just to clarify, you can have twin AMS or ECM, but not both. You can, however, have twin AMS with MASC. Just making sure everyone knows.

And yes, Durant Carlyle will be coming back from the grave to pilot his beloved Phoenix Hawk (bought the Ultimate Pack obviously). Most of them look fun ... the ROC and PXH-2 especially. The PHX-1K is strange -- a Hawk without flight -- but it might be a good change from the others.

I went with the Standard Pack, plus Reinforcements (for the PXH-2 which for me is the most interesting variant for the energy hardpoints + ECM), and the ROC (planning to run it near-stock), for $50.

I've said it before, but the Collector Packs are just silly IMO. You pay twice as much to get another (ostensibly different) copy of a variant you already own. No thanks.

That variant comes with bonuses that the standard one doesn't. It's worth it for me though. My mechbay is exclusively:
Special Variants (f, p, i, o, s, etc).
Heroes (all except Kodiak.. Soon™)
Some Champions (what I win via events).
ECM capable Variants.

The only chassis I broke this pattern for is my beloved Hunchbacks (including the IICs).

This one has got me in a bind.

From a nostalgia/mech collector point of view, I am all in.

However, on paper these mechs do not look like my bag.

OTOH, I thought I wouldnt like the Whammy that much, but I turned out loving em..

Well, this one is kind of nice for me. The sole variant I always lusted after ( the 1b ) is in the basic pack, and since PGI still doesn't see the value of letting us choose our special.... I got zero reason to care about the Collector's pack. And plenty of time to decide if either Hero is appealing enough, or if the reinforcement are worth it for the MASC 'Hawk.

And smells. At least for me. Goodness the amount of cheap chemical scents people slather on themselves.... And most often without doing a sufficient job bathing, underneath.......

I can't decide if it's wise than the noise. The noise confuses things, but the stench most people put off with their BO, cheap cologne or perfume, axe body spray, scented lotions, etc, literally makes me sick to my stomach and gives me crushing headaches
