I don't understand why they don't release all variants when they do these though. The 3M might not be so different than the others, but with it's loadout and quirks still being a thing they could quirk it differently than the others.

I guess that PGI is saving it, so they can offer you some kind of "Reinforcements" pack in the future.

Aren't all the 'b' royal versions rather rare? Didn't many of them get destroyed through the ages or go off with Kerensky?

Yes, more or less.

Looks solid, but since im a F2P ill just wait until it comes out for Cbills and all the bugs/unbalances/issues are ironed out.

That said JJ+speed+ECM+6 hardpoints looks to be a good option. That would let me run a shadowcatish build but shorter range and with some serious alpha and firepower. While the s-cat is my fav mech atm, its major lack of hardpoints, locked equipment (i wish i could ditch teh masc and 2-4 JJs so i can have either more heat sinks for a 2x LPL, or run viable gauss/uac20 builds), just limit its usefulness. This looks like a viable s-cat but with IS tech, worse armor (hitboxes or not IS XLs are pretty lousy protection wise), and actual firepower (and if i want to run similar firepower to the s-cat i can always get a much bigger engine).

Anyways, well see when it comes out.

F2P, yeah, I may have to become one myself if these packs keep sliding in value-for money (and if regional pricing never becomes a thing).

In response to commenters previous, its tough to consider even the $20usd to be a good deal (and definitely not $85usd) when you compare in context to Resistance 1 & 2. It's not that I cannot afford it, but rather that the value for money is going down the tube compared to past offerings. Value not great? No buy. Value good? Have my money.

Judging from the much more aggressive "preorder ending soon" ads in-game, I'd say many are of the same mind as me.

I'm really starting to reevaluate my decision to plop down $85 bucks for this without any word that there will be a little something extra for people buying all the variants. $85 is a lot of money for not much more than what $20 could do. Something tells me that I'll be right back to running Griffins by July. I really hope I'm wrong.

PGI, please tell me I'm wrong!
