Heh. This thread made me so nostalgic for the original Macross saga I went ahead and started rereading the books. You forget, after 30 years, how bad and two dimensional the characters really were. Every once in a while you see a hint of a classic sci-fi trope, but then it gets squashed under some egregious dialogue or stereo-type. Which is indicitive of the fact that within the books, there is almost nothing glaringly original about any of them. But, its like a lot of my space opera sci-fi, its a guilty pleasure. I get to reconnect with them all the same, and it brings back fond memories.

Doesn't matter what they look like. They're a mediocre mech at best and a complete waste of money. That's the first and last time I get one of the new releases. I decided to get it out of nostalgia. Unfortunately I got buyers remorse module with this mech.

Wow! I look the Phoenix Hawk and I don't like it at all! I reminds of Macross or Robotech.... not mechwarrior... anyone else share this feeling?
Nope
don't know why you sound surprised or annoyed at its Macros look as it and all the Unseen are from Anime

Thanks.
Still, a 45 ton mech running at 167kph is insanely fast.

which is ok if you want a mech that big that fast with three small pulse lasers ..
( disclaimer ) I haven't tried to make a build with a max engine, yet..but I can't be far off it
