ITT: Whiney people wanting discounts.

*looks into crystal ball*
Have you considered the following?
*sees people asking for discounts getting those discounts off the ultimate pack*
but then...
*threads pop up from people who "would have bought the ultimate pack if it had a discount", but didn't and are crying because the early adopter rewards are over*
*threads pop up from people who manually bought all the packs, but didn't get a discount*
*threads pop up from people who bought the complete pack of other mech packs wanting discounts*

Come on, peeps.
Stop expecting something that's not going to happen, and accept that the only reason the button is there is because there are.. 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. 5... FIVE buttons that you need to click in order to buy everything. (4 if you buy the collectors edition first)

So guess what.

There's one button that does it all for you and saves you the 5 minutes instead of processing each payment separately.

Wow! Simple as that. Stop being so "needy". It's embarrassing. Not every button that asks for money has to have some special smugly put, "it would be nice..." discount.

No, but there is a reason why most retailors do offer 'something' when selling larger compelations of products...

PGI would do well to make note of those reasons.

Yea, they would. Maybe not for this pack... but generally speaking a promo for buying everything could help draw in more sales. If PGI sees gain in promoting larger packs then fly at it.
But that doesn't mean they should discount this one. We're already too far along in the sale to bother with flooding customer support and putting bad taste in people's mouths. Nothing is wrong right now, just people complaining. It would be best if PGI took note and incorporated it into their bundles down the road.
I just want people to see the potential 5H!7-storm that it could cause if PGI instantly and mindlessly panders to one iddy bitty group who just wants a price cut.

Were people asking for a discount before the consolidated buy button came into existence? No? Exactly. So, you can see how one thing can lead to another, just moments after the idea was conceived. When a discount wasn't an idea in the communities minds before, it is now because PGI thought it would be a good idea to make a button to make it easier to buy everything.

I can't help but laugh at the psychological forces at play here. haha. All these sheep here see one thing, and unanimously get this brilliant idea, "Hey! Look! A button to buy everything. Wait, buy -everything-? WELL IS THERE A DISCOUNT?!". But never stop to think about the what if's and the mess of things that happen over and over, time and time again every time PGI tries to make these types of people happy on the fly like this. It never goes well. Why? Because you can't please this group of people.
I just hope PGI has finally learned. And instead of bending over and dropping their pants, they take some precaution, and, like you said, make note of the reasons. And plan a course of action for the next pack.

I have to say something here, I've changed my view on the pack. I didn't realize the pricing of the Kodiak in comparison.

PGI, you need consistency in your pricing. If a medium mech is cheaper in game, it should be cheaper to buy. It makes zero sense. I may get the base pack now, but that will be it.

We are 2 days in to a sale that goes until the end of the month for early bonus and then continues until release in late June and then indefinitely. NOW is the time to correct it!

And someone is always going to complain about something, but the overall benefit FAR outweights any possible downside.

All the have to do is include Polygon or Hot Rod with the Mastery Pack. Issue solved. It's not even hard.

But they haven't done anything wrong... that's the thing. They do something now, and you're going to get all the complaints from everyone else who feels screwed over. Best to just to leave it and incorporate it next pack.

Not doing right is doing wrong Posted Image

Doing it next pack will prompt complaints about why they did not do it for this pack... Fact is they can fix this and they can currently fix anyone that still feels screwed over easily as well.

From a marketting/public relations standpoint it is win-win. Pretty much means that it will not happen unfortunately Posted Image

Not at all. I think the word you were looking for was "not ideal". They haven't wronged anyone by not adding a discount. It's obvious that Marketing hasn't really thought it through, though.
But all they have to do for the next pack is say,

"We're listening... And we've acknowledged the feedback from our previous mech pack, the Phoenix Hawk, and now have incorporated additional incentives to purchasing complete mech packs. To take advantage of this exciting offer, locate the Ultimate Pack area on all future mech packs to receive an immediate discount for your up-front commitment and willingness to support MechWarrior:Online franchise. We are very thankful for all of your continuous support and loyalty, and we are grateful for this opportunity to show our appreciation!

If we can improve our future mech pack offers, please send your thoughts, concerns or feedback to feedback@mwomercs.com.

Cordially,

- The MechWarrior: Online Team"

And Voila. No complaints. People are happy.
See, it's a psychological thing. No one asked for a discount before the button was put in place. People will forget they even asked about this discount in a weeks time. But what really means something is that PGI didn't. And, to boot, you get people to send their feedback to a private inbox. So instead of threads being created where people hand out pitch forks, it's diffused in an e-mail and that's that.

But... lol... chances of PGI doing PR that elegantly? 0.0001%

PGI is all about the money, they are a corporation and all. Russ and crew didnt pick up the Intellectual Property because they love Battletech.

I asked for the ultimate pack (I'm sure others did as well) why? Because I don't like charging my debit card 5 times! Quit crying! They did it to lower the amount of purchases us whales make! That simple!

Hey, its not just that.

Its anyone who has taken any sort of economics course, or hell; anyone with a modicum of brainpower.
That literally every other company gives you an incentive to buy in bulk- they want you to not just buy what you want, but to buy ALL of it.

A person can take just one look at PGI's pricing plan and laugh at the stupidity of the "ultimate pack", when the only incentive of the ultimate pack is to save some people some hassle (or the extra xsolla charges or whatver)

But even the fact that PGI had to do that for the xsolla stuff shows another major flaw in PGI's plan- lack of some sort of "shopping cart" option- you know, like the thing that has been in existence since the 90's, and puts everything into one nice transaction.
