Wed: Dec 7, 3048: AFFC officials call “fowl” on planetary governor of Lima blowing the Combine raid of ’46 completely out of proportion.

Those usually come out at 3 Eastern I believe, a few hours to go. ISN tends to come out at 12. ;)

Also, is that a PUN? Can't find anything on a Lima raid, but I sure hope so.

Sitting on the border of the Draconis Combine and the Draconis March, Lima was captured by the Combine during the Fourth Succession War. Lima would later be recovered for the Federated Commonwealth by the mercenary group McGee's Cutthroats during the War of 3039. The peoples inhabiting the Draconis March are zealously opposed to the Draconis Combine, so I am not surprised they would make a big deal about an ordinary Combine raid in 3046.

I believe the quotation marks are meant to use it as an insult. They're insulting the governor with a delicious pun.

Seems to me like the AFFC knows the story of Chicken Little...

Not just the people of the Draconis March, I'd say just about everyone (Including a fair bit of the people on Draco worlds) aren't big fans of their tyranny and oppression.

You mean they don't like having their worlds be battlefields between two great houses and don't enjoy the lack of stability that entails???? *sarcasm!*

Yes, congrats. And also, being able to inform us of the lore and what-not for this has to be way more exciting than, say, being a real historian. They have tales of swords and muskets. Meanwhile, you know the cool stuff that has to do with 'Mechs and the Houses. Way better.

Which is why I'm a historian and a MechWarrior fan. ;)

3 years later and this comes up? Why do skeletons always feel the need to rattle their bones? Blackjack was there on the one and only engagement we had with the snakes. Was supposed to be a loot roll. DCMS units would take worthwhile tech and we were to blow the rest of the AFFC munitions stockpile. Straightforward and there was supposed to be limited direct engagement. I won't go into detail regarding the "limited engagement" with the AFFC but to say they did their duty and did it well. Withdrawal was more of a rout and well...the things the DCMS did to cover the retreat... the same things my 'Jacks wouldn't do; our Drac handlers called it breach of contract later on. We never got our mission completion pay and frankly I feel lucky that we got out of snake space still breathing. So, whatever the governor's complaints; none of it was the AFFC's fault...but yeah, there was a lot of blood spilled and scars formed that day.

Bah! Those wee snakies buggers wiggled their way right out paying us our due! *spit*

It took me months to cover all the repairs on my Hunchback and replace the Autocannon that was knocked out. Blown actuators, navigation and my fancy targeting system all a total loss!

Our next dealing with them...I want to introduce them to me little friend, the business end of a Gauss Rifle from a Highlander.
