If i remember it right from the last townhall questions/answers i heard that PGI can't get the good ideas of possible realisations for Clan Omnimechs Hero variants.

The first of all, i want to say that this game needs Clan Hero mechs! I for myself wanted to buy some Hero, but i'm using only Clan mechs, i'm playing for Clan side with Permanent Contract and in Unit, so not only i do not want IS mech from some of my own tastes, but that also means i can't take it CW matches, and to raise it to Elite i'll need to buy more variants of that IS mech, and that is more mechbays needed. So - not gonna happen. And that's definitely not only my point of view, there are a lot of people who's not buying Hero mechs from those or principal or quite logical reasons.Posted Image

But, to the point of the whole thread, if i get that correct - the trouble with Hero Omnimech is that players who bought it, can easily rebuild it into something different with the help of omnipods, and it will be or too OP, or too much farming, or just simply absolutely another mechs, from what it should be in design.
So, why not to add those Hero quirks and quirk "Bonus C-Bills from the match +30%" right into CT of the Hero variant of the mech, in section [For full Omnipod set 8/8]. We already have some of those, with small quirks or bonus Exp+5% or something like that, on the regular mechs.Posted Image

And that solves the problem, not so rough like blocking Omnipods for Change/Remove, but leaves players with different solutions:
-They can make their builds while using the default set of omnipods, and that will be C-bill farming mech.
-Or they can rebuild that mech like they want it, for regular play. And that will be just unique mech in their dropdeck/hanger, like those foiled cards from the card table games, with unique name, texture/camo pattern, builded as they like it, but without C-bills farm bonuses.Posted Image

That will keep the balance among the Hero mechs, and also give a lot of players interest in buying those mechs, or for the farm purposes, or for the collection and simply fun games.

The flaw in your proposal is to hide the Cbill-bonus behind the 8/8 omnipod-set.
This would make the Invasion (I) variants far more suitable to farm Cbills.

In this regards I like Nightshade24's idea in Clan Hero 'mech Suggestions better.

Omnimech heroes still get the 30% c-bill bonus and custom Skin as per usual. They can get custom hardpoints / Omnipods however these omnipods have some quirks to them. However the rest of the quirks including say 50% of the weapon quirks is to an omnipod set bonus to encourage the use of the stock layout of omnipods. This is to prevent a hero mech becoming a meta monster (ie. A large laser hero timberwolf quirks abused with Timberwolf A side torso). Another thing is that hero omnipods should be restricted to hero mechs only. Thus you won't have say a Direwolf with a high mounted ballistic from the Direwolf Widowmaker hero.

[note with omnipod set bonus: this could be also done to an extent on standard omnimechs to help balance the omnipod set. This can allow say a Timberwolf D to have good ER PPC quirks without a Timberwolf A side torso coming in and abusing it. As the Timberwolf D's only energy slots is a single one in each arm and CT]
