Remember when the BK came out and it was such trash that PGI quirked it within a couple weeks via hot patch?

And now look at it.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Keep torso twisting, that BK gets heat capped really quick, get in there and kill it before it can cool down and its dead.

Maybe because the 5smpls 4x SRM6 Timber or 4smpls 4x SRM6 & flamer Timber can kill the OPs BK one on one. The new Timber meta is here. Long live the old king still.

I have zero problems killing CQB TBRs in my BK or even wub-BLR.

You speak as if a splat type TBR is new... it isn't. Its been around since the TBR was released and even back then there were downsides to the splat-TW. First and foremost the extreme close range and even then the spread of SRMs that's bigger than an LBX.

I'd rather take my 50+ absolute pinpoint laser precise wubwub BK over a TW any day.. and I do. Never lost to a splat TW 1v1 in it or my wub BLR.

Without also touching the cLPL, at any rate.

They're both among the best lasers in the game, which is fine. Some quirks can make them excessive...but those were also touched down last pass.

If you compare them to clans the clan lpl puts out more dph than the cmpl.
But the IS lpl puts out less dph than the IS mpl for some reason.

The lpl is way to cool and need around a 5-10% heat nerf and maybe drop the tonnage to 6 to match the clans.

I prefer my G'Hoppa over my BlekKnight. Better hardpoint placement.

Except not nearly as tanky, and lacks that glorious shield RA.

But you are right, the GHR-5H and the WHM-6D can wreck havoc to almost the same degree. I love all three, but the BKN is easily the best of the trio if you get to play aggressively.

Blah.. Blah.. Blah... Something something. Don't face hug.

Seriously, I see plenty of the wub-knight... Usually around 800m where I pick them off with impunity.

DPH is damage per heat, right?

Clan LPL: 13 damage / 10 heat = 1.3 dph
Clan MPL: 8 damage / 6 heat = 1.33 dph (winner)

IS LPL: 11 damage / 7 heat = 1.57 dph (winner)
IS MPL: 6 damage / 4 heat = 1.5 dph

Both of your statements comparing DPH were wrong.

It's also funny how you say that the IS LPL has lower DPH than the IS MPL (false, but besides the point), and then say that it needs its DPH made even lower.

eh, I'll admit they're great at pinpoint alphas, but it can't really hill hump; I mean those hardpoints are really low, but it can corner peak with the best of them. Where it really shines though is making a push. You can core out a few mechs pretty easily before you get taken down. I just feel like I get focused in mine all the time though. That CT is better than it was, but it's still a damage magnet.

Don't touch my LPL!!

Sadly though, given the current meta and as more people come to realise how strong it is, there WILL be a "rebalance" coming. I can feel it.

The Black Knight, and to a lesser extent the Grasshopper, are still quite strong despite the IS laser range nerf.

You should engage them with caution from the shadows.

And people said the Black Knight was a useless mech when it was released. And a lot of people even kept saying it after they fixed the CT hitbox.

You jokers.

These are the same jokers who said similar things about the Battlemaster after quirks. And the Blackjack. And the Quickdraw.

Remember the time when everyone complained that the BK was useless and a deadweight?

Those were some hilarious times.

Would be far more interesting to consider a 9 MPL BK against that TW though...bet the BK comes out on top of that one TBH.

Of course...when you compare a mid-range poking build to a 300m hero, if the 300m hero gets in range it typically wins. For example...brawler Atlas against a DW. Inside 300m the Atlas walks all over the DW...at 500m...the DW obliterates that same Atlas.

Considering how much higher the DPH, and damage per tick, on the IS LPL is...(and IS lasers in general)...I am not sure I would see a need to touch the cLPL. Is the cLPL really good right now? Sure...but that is primarily because the ERLL is so bad, not because the LPL is that good corresponding to other weapons. If cERLL duration dropped to say...~1.3-1.35, it would likely be enough that the cLPL would be much less popular comparatively.

Never run around a corner because there could be a BK waiting for your face. Posted Image

Fork out for that target info module so you know what weapons your target is packing and pick your targets intelligently. Most people will just try to get as close as possible without realizing your target is actually packing more close range alpha than you do and is secretly smiling as you charge in. Or snipe with 2 LL while the other guy's returning fire with 3 cERLLs at 600m.

Man this game needs a better tutorial. Posted Image

More and more black knights around, more and more super alphas fired everywhere... must be a coincidence.
But don't fret! It's gonna be almost overheated right after it kills you, so it's okay.
