If you install a Clan Targeting Computer on an Arctic Cheetah (probably any clan mech), then chainfire any of: cERSL, cSPL, cERML -- you will destroy the arm/torso you are shooting at, but get zero crits. If you remove the targeting computer, you get crits every single time on weapons before you destroy that part of the mech. 100% success (no TC), or failure (TC) on Tourmaline testing grounds, Atlas torsos & Catapult arms.

Not 0, but significantly reduced.

TC1 and TC7 destroyed the Gauss Rifle every time I've shot at one, but that's half the HP of your typical item, forced to have a 100% chance to be Crit (otherwise empty Side Torso).

TC1 was 5 ERSL shots
TC7 was 3 and 4 ERSL shots
No TC was 3 ERSL shots
More testing to remove as much RNGeesus as possible to come...eventually.

It's a known bug, to be resolved Soon™

Its not zero. I was able to crit out the LRM20 and AC-20 on the Atlas on Caustic at 350+ meters with a hex slas TC1 setup. The long range was to increase the number of shots fired for testing.

Not really that surprising given that the -30% uac jam quirk is only like -7 or 8%.

Why wouldn't the TC crit mods only be worth less than half of their stated value?

-30% jam reduce from 15%, so it is 10.5% new jam chance.

That one's working as intended.

14-17% times 0.7 to give you the new jam chance.

Good God. As crazy as this is, I am not surprised. I too have wondered why crits seem to never happen with the tcs. At least there are still the bennies of projectile speed and beam length for that weight lol.

That moment you realize your optimized death machine is running on a clam potato

. Atlases for some reason or another seem to have the easiest weapons to crit. My Ac20 is blown out first on a regular basis

That's the nature of Crits. The AC20 has 18 HP, but 10 Crits. That's 1.8 HP/crit, while your typical item has 10 HP/crit (anything 1 slot).

This is getting fixed in the March patch according to Russ.

Golly gee, do you think PGI will go through and check their code for similar fails or continue to have us do their QA for them?

I guarantee there are more lurking out there on par with TC and mobility.
