Never released in any Mechwarrior title, I'd like to see PGI's take on the very first battlemech built, the... *Drum roll*

MCK-5S (6S,7A,8B,9H) Mackie, Built in 2439.

I am currently working on a short story with this 'mech as the star and will likely post it here on the forums somewhere as this mech always stood out in the back of my mind as the perfect hook for a story.

As the Mackie doesn't follow the current construction rules I really can't see this happen.

It would be like putting a WWI Aircraft in WWII settings.

The thing wouldn't live even for a few seconds.

Eh, only if one used the primitive tech version.

The Star League continued producing, and upgrading, the Mackie until it's dissolution.
The 7A, 8B (AC20, 2xPPC, 2xMLasers) and 9H are all using normal rules and tech.

Don't be so sure. I'm willing to bet the Sunder is the December mech pack announcement. Being the most renowned of the early IS omni-mechs, and being that the December mech announcement should be a type of mech that we haven't seen before, which hopefully means it will be an IS Omni.

The Rail gun is a made up weapon that does not exist... Mektek made it up as well as the RAC 10 and 20, the continious large laser, etc.
On top of that- it was the Behemoth II that had the railgun- which is a mech that doesn't exist either.

Sarna: MechCommander Railgun

The Railgun first appeared in MechCommander Desperate Measures, before MekTek may have used that as an inspiration to add it to MW4 as a main gun for the Behemoth II. As far as the Behemoth II itself is concerned, it was created along with the Behemoth for MW4 to have a version in the game that represented the original TRO 3055 artwork for the Stone Rhino which had the single massive dorsal cannon depicted.

Sarna: Stone Rhino / Behemoth

However in TRO 3055 itself the stats for the Stone Rhino gave it a Gauss Rifle in each side torso, a Large Pulse Laser in each arm and and a Small Pulse Laser in the head. So the burning question became did that big single dorsal cannon somehow represent two Gauss rifles in a single barrel turret or did the massive gun represent a small pulse laser. Later artwork for the Stone Rhino shrunk the dorsal cannon to a small pulse laser, and the Reseen version Stone Rhino 2 also tried to account for the visual discrepency. But MekTek decided to add both, with the Behemoth having the TRO 3055 loadout of the Gauss Rifles in the torsos and a small dorsal laser, and the Behemoth II with the TRO 3055 artwork having single big cannon, but in this case represented by the Railgun. The Railgun also can be mounted on the Marauder II in MW4 to have an Inner Sphere counterpart.

Did I miss something? Are they bringing mech packs back again for good or is this pertaining to the March mech releases?

(Please for the love of god PGI introduce the origins IIC wave pack 2 with the new tech)

Personally, the only mech I'm super adament about being added to this game is the Bushwacker, even though I'll admit it's a bad mech. My nostalgia for it is just too strong.

How's that nostalgia now?

OK, just pointing out, that having a basis in MechAssault? Doesn't do a lot to remove the label "made up crap".

I remembered the true love of my life, obviously. ;) But yeah, I'm actually quite surprised at how well the Bushwacker works in this game. Expected it to be terible.

MechCommander. By FASA Interactive. Founded by the company that made BattleTech. Your unusual aversion and continuously feeling the need to bash previous MechWarrior and other BattleTech based PC games and the groups that have worked on them is quite unwaranted. Especially if it stems from some notion that the purity of the tabletop game being corrupted by groups that would dare have the audacity to introduce new Mechs and technology because they have the license and artistic freedom to do so.

My "continuously" feeling? Oh, do tell me more?

Please, let me know of all the injustices here. I'll wait.

Damn, been over a year and a lot of this list has filled up!

Only the Owens remains for the lights.
Hell's twins remain in mediums (although Hellhound might be a stretch :/)
Heavies we just have the Argus!
Assaults several remain specially IS ones. Most are IS Omni mechs.

Even the mech expansion packs are filled out!
