PGI needs to fix the light mech hit registration it seems to have gotten worse. If they can't they need to lower the speed cap to a level that the game can handle. Right now light mechs are out tanking assault mechs with the damage they can absorb and take next to no damage unless they are standing completely still. A light mech should be able to dance back and forth in front of another mech and take no damage its just gotten rediculous. Need to fix it asap.

Not this again...

Light hit registration is fine.... if you are having troubles it is because of:

1. very tight hit boxes on some lights (damage spreads all over)
2. you have a crappy ping -- get a better connection
3. The light you are shooting at has a crappy ping -- too darn bad
4. You have bad aim.
5. YOU AREN'T SHOOTING FOR THE LEGS!

The people who complain about light hitreg obviously don't play them very often.

If they died any easier no one will play them. They're not going to fix this. After the laser hitreg improvement they had to quirk every light because they were dieing too fast.

This is what we get for PGI using an old game engine, which has had this issue since it was developed, on top of what is a pretty substandard Tickrate for such a complex game.

That says more about other flawed systems than it does about light mech fragility.

Ha-ha I'm finding the cheetoo after the last 2 nerfs is hard to play. It drops both arms with a few long range hits. This knocks out 70%ish of the weapons for most the game. Of course it's still a good mech but not as OP as 5months ago

Actually, all lights got a bit slower (and less agile) after the Skill Tree nerfs a few months ago. They're easier to hit now than they used to be.

Also, you can't lower the speed cap on mechs that come with these engines stock. For example, the Arctic Cheetah that people hate so dearly, comes STOCK with that XL240 engine. You can't make a mech use engines lower than stock. Some like the Jenner IIC come stock with a huge XL315. Etc.

That's because cryengine doesn't have server authenticated netcode so PGI had to write their own. It's a lot better than it used to be... still has issues with large numbers of simulateous hits like from SRMS though.

Lights are hard to hit, but not because of any computer/speed issues, unless they are related to ping.

There are some weapons that take some of the challenge out of hitting lights. Mainly, lasers, streaks, srms, lrms and LBXs. Any of these set on chain fire, not alpha strike should make pretty quick work of a light. And aim low. Don't try to hit the CT or ST until a leg is gone.

Good luck and see you on the battlefield.

Speed tweak could be removed and that would make everything more slow, including lights.

I would be fine with that since the skill tree is trash.

It would also allow the firemoth to just barely squeak under the speed cap

no, hit registration is not fine - it has the same issues it used to have back in Beta, just not as often

Stop try to kill lights with IS or worst Clan ERLLs... Or maybe aim better.

Light mechs take ages to kill in Mechwarrior Online.
Light mechs die fast in Alphawarrior Online.

Pgi are going to remove Alphawarrior (or at least they're trying to), therefore Light mechs will become an even bigger PITA.

Time to git gud and stop crying whenever a light kills you, light specific hitreg hasn't been a problem in ages.
