So, is there, or will there every be a way to see real-time active player count and/or players active weekly? (or something like that)

It would be nice to know how many people are actually playing this game nowadays. I'm starting to play a bit more often, but wonder how the playerbase has fared after the Steam release. I'm guessing there's a way to see those statistics, but I'm still running on the OG patcher tool and not going through steam.

We had a playercount in the launcher in CB, it was removed, likely becasue PGI realized that it didn´t matter what the number was, people would find a way to throw salt around and complain about the sky falling no matter what.

Steam playerstats are available through Steam. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing what % of the playerbase that is, so we can´t reasonably extrapolate that data to say something realistic about the overall playerbase....

I'm not asking for alt purposes, just kinda curious is all. From my in-game experience, I'm seeing a lot less oldies on my friends list and a lot of steam players I know have just joined our community. Come back Alistair Winter, I miss our 2 LPL AC/20 Victor drops so.....
