Idea i just had in another Thread for PvE Training Mission, earning some Credits.

You are the Rookie's and your Lance is send out to destroy some Pirates.
So 4 Pilots which want some Aktion get assembled into a Team.
They are thrown randomly on one of the Maps and have to Destroy 8 AI Mechs which are in Bad Shape.
Low on Ammonution, 30% less Heatsink Effenciency because they are Low on Coolant, etc..
But you are outnumbered 2:1

You earn only 50% of the Normal Credits for shooting the Pirates.

With this you can have some Easy Targets ( AI is normaly not so good as a Player)
You can experiment Setup's if they are okey for you.
You can Earn a little Money if you have a shortage
You can LEARN the Maps
And you Learn where to go into Cover and were not. ( Fire rate will be down thanks to reduced Heatsink Effeniency)

So it's a Rookie Mission to learn how to Play in Practice. Or for testing Setup's and Tactics.

Btw for everyone Voting Don't want PvE. You miss a great Chance to Flame your Teammates by saying: Don't play here go to the Pirates moon first.

( Because most Hardcore PvP Players are the ones which flames the Noobs which wants to learn how to fight first.
This i learned since 1999 PvP'ing)

Practice/non ranked matches are going to be part of the game so you can trial weapon setups and tactics, I dont think PVE will ever be a big part of this game.

Devs want PvE, and not to include PvE would be a mistake... im sure there are ways to mix up PvE with PvP anyway... or Faction vs Faction, IS vs Clanners warfare and im sure there could be PvE and PvP servers... could be many possibilities

I love the idea of teaching players on how to play the game.

Love pirates moon, but TBH anyone who doesn't know what the pirates moon is should stick to warcraft.

Bot matches are a good way for new players to get their feet wet without that whole 'Queue>Wait for Battle to Start>Charge in>Get Alpha Cored>Learn Nothing>Sit and Wait for Five Minutes for the Round to Finish' problem that can so easily plague any sort of non-respawning game no matter how good the matchmaking is. This isn't going to be such a huge issue initially because there won't be such a wide skill spread, but even six months in it'll start to show pretty clear. And I'm not even talking about the difference between an 'expert' and a new player, I'm talking about the difference between someone who's new to the game and charges out in the open and cooks themselves and someone who actually understands using cover and managing their heat.

LoL is a good example of a F2P MMO that has implemented this well. Playing bot matches in LoL will not make you competitive against good human players, but it will give you practice last hitting creeps and getting your build order sorted out and teach you not to tower dive and when to chase and when you're leaving yourself vulnerable to being ganked.

(In the interest of full disclosure, I'm terrible at LoL, but I understand why, so it's all good from a conceptual perspective. :) )

PVE would be a nice addition to PVP.
