If it ain't got dual PPCs in its arms (or at least large lasers), then it's not a Warhammer.

Didn't think this would be very effective but its proven me otherwise so far. It would be pretty useless without the PPC velocity quirk though.

Massive fan of the MAD in previous games and again with this rereseen.

I run a super-charged version of that.

MAD-3R

Drop the 10 to an Ultra 5 to cram more DHS in, I figured the double tap is a good enough surrogate for a proper 10 and gives me some surge if I need it. The ER PPCs remove the hard minimum range limitation, which is nice. XL 350 for fast repositioning and all the DHS. It's a fun 'Mech.

I am happy for all your Warhammers, but this thread needs more Marauders.

My Marauder building rules are the following:
I) A Marauder without a shoulder cannon is a sad Marauder.
II) A Marauder with asymmetric arms is a sad Marauder.
III) PPCs should be tried, but they still blow without quirks

Therefore none of the following builds are optimal in any sense, but my personal enjoyment of running a Marauder. Still good enough for the YOLO queue though, since PUGs lack the coordination to exploit the flaws in my builds.


MAD-3R

Radar Deprivation
Advanced Seismic
Gauss Cooldown
PPC Range

As close to a super-stock version as my Marauders come. Heavy quirking makes PPCs somewhat viable, though still nowhere near 'objectively good'. All in all this mech is accurate and tanky as hell, with obvious flaws in terms of alpha size, sustained dps and min range. . You need to find some balance of keeping your distance, without straying too far from the pack.


BOUNTY HUNTER II

Gauss Cooldown
MPL Range

My short range Marauder. Plays most similar to a normal MPL boat, just with tacked on Gauss Rifle. Accurate 51point alpha allows for decent peeking and trading. With its relatively good heat efficiency it can start and win slugfests with laser boats, though.

PXH-2:

- Endo + Ferro
- Full armour except head at 16
- XL300 + 2 in-engine DHS
- 6xJJ (no 1 JJ silliness in my Phoenix Hawks)
- 2 x ERLL in RA, 2 x ML in LA (or 1xERLL/1xML in either arm, but I think I'll prefer the earlier)
- Guardian ECM

(i.e. VND-1AA except up-engine to XL300 and add 1 in-engine DHS)

No it's not, to make a "War-hands" it needs to have 2x AC10s and 4x MLs at least. That THING is not a "War-hands".

I know what the Hammerhands is, it's one of my favorite Heavies even though it was mothballed.

When I say "War-Hands" I am talking about using the Warhammer to make a Hammerhands load out which one can make, minus the JJ. All you need is 2x AC10s, 4x MLs, and an SRM.

However, what that mech was is not a Hammerhands, nor a "War-hands" as it has 2x UAC5s and 2xAC5s. That =/= Hammerhands, it's just a dakka boat.

Will probably move my current LK build to my spare 3N now that I've got the dual AC20 out of my system and plop a near-clone of my 3C build into the LK because that's what's been working best for me. I don't have a favorite build for the 5D yet.
