1) PVE mode where players (24 even) fight againt an alien force that's made up of mega insects, heavily armored that use highly corrosive acid attacks that eat mechs, instant and damage over time. Maybe even super thermal attacks for certain types or even cryogenic, freezing which slow mechs, stop rotation speeds etc. freeze actuators.,
The insects would be a lot like mechs, in that they have locations
These are all AI controlled.

2) New types of missile ammo. Acid - less damage to structure, more to armor. Thermal - Adds more heat to location for X seconds, less damage, Electric - Destabilizes ecm systems /targetting computers temporarily

3) Cryogenic beam, lowers temperature in location, can freeze joints on mechs temporarily hindering movement, rotation, aiming arms. Can use to cool friendly who's overheating. No damage to armor, some to exposed structure.

4) Armor types: Reflective/refractive, high resistance against lasers, destroyed more easily by ballistic attacks.
Inertial Damper armor: Projects a field that deflects a portion of ballistic attacks (ie high resistance to ballistic) more susceptable to lasers.
You can apply these special armors to locations, by inserting them into an empty slot of the location you want protected. They have weight, though not a huge amount.
Doppler armor: Projects a false image against missiles making a portion head off target.
Weighs more than other special armors as it has an electronic system attached to it.
