No, I'm not downloading the PTS install again.
1. They should just advance the timeline.
2. No. See first line.
3. What people would bring is Clan weapons/tech on IS mechs. There's almost no reason to go the other way, even in the case of auto-cannons.
would depend on if it was true mix tech, or jsut mix weapon tech. If C-XL and Endo and FF and DHS still were clan chassis dependant, then I think in many cases the Clan Chassis would still be better.
If it's all out mixed tech, then it will be IS Chassis (high hardpoint or mass vomit only) all clan components, and a mix of weapons. The IS ACs are still in most cases better (UACs are darn good now, but PP-FLD does have it's rather strong advantage, at least on the AC10/20), and I could see some arguments for IS Standard and Pulse lasers (medium large) because of beam duration, but not a gambling man enough to call which would "meta" out.

IS LPLs and LLs might still be used because of the 3 ghost heat limit, for example I think you'd see some Timberwolves with IS LPLs in the the 3E torso and some Hellbringers with IS ERLL.
Otherwise I think it would be mostly clan weapons, for example think of a 4xcUAC10 Mauler-MX90. Or a 6xcSPL locust 1E. Or a Shadowhawk 2d2 with clan streaks. Practically every IS mech would benefit big time from some clan weapons.
I don't think mixtech is a good or interesting idea though.
Anything that would make the factions less distinct from each other is boring IMO. I want IS and Clan to be MORE different in playstyle and feel than they are now, not less.
and beam durations. Imagine a tanky, IS structure Quirked chassis, C-XL engine, C-DHS, and IS Large Lasers and Ballistics for twist and shout?
