PGI should put a Buyer Beware warning on all preorders.

Beware -

Do not camp alongside Kodiaks, no matter how informative your documentary is.

If the Myth Lynx is garbage, the Loki must be too?

Your logic is...well, typical on your part.

But someday they might be OK. After rescale quirk change heat change and hell freezing.

Of course, Clan 'Mechs aren't built around having a set of quirks to be considered "reasonable", as a general rule. The Kodiak is going to be judged alongside comparable 'Mechs and hence, not found wanting for the lack.

There are no DOA mechs, only DOA mechwarriors.

That's a puzzling jump to conclusions.

I don't get how one mech that may or may not be balanced correctly, is indicative of the next released content.

Well if you need 100% scientific proof every mech pack I buy doesn't turn out to be meta but every mech pack I don't buy does.

I bought both archer and kodiak. :P

What about the Kodiak suggests that it will need quirks to be viable? It's a clan-tech battlemech with a ton of hard points.

Actually, when you look at Clan battlemechs, you see low to zero quirks. So that'd be my expectation for the Kodiak. This makes sense as clan weapons don't need quirks to be superior to IS, and the Kodiak itself has a huge 400XL engine it making it as fast as a 100 ton assault mech can be, which may as well be considered a quirk.

The problem with the Archer was that when you looked at IS missile mechs, you saw tons of better mechs than what PGI is planning. So the expectation is that the quirks would be similiar. Instead what we got is a mech that is noticably weaker as a missile mech, and lolwtfweaksauce as a laser boat.

You mean like they do in all the pre-order FAQs?

From the Archer page for example.

Q: What guarantees can be made about the balance of these Mechs?
Only that we will try to provide as fair an experience for all players, Clans and Inner Sphere alike. This may mean "nerfing" or "buffing" some weapons or adding Quirks to the 'Mechs at a later date.

I have never seen such articulate and succinct logic as the OP has bestowed us with.
Flawless and breathtaking.

the Kodiak's quirks are that it's gonna be able to carry a million billion weapons while running at 70 KPH with big shield arms and mounts that aren't too low

I deleted my comment because I didn't think my sarcasm was appropriate. Posted Image

I don't mind you quoting it though, it's cool. Posted Image

And yeah, Urbs is OP. Always was, always will be. Urbs is so OP, nerfs wouldn't affect it. Posted Image
