I've seen it. Shut down right away... Doesn't seem very practical. Too hot.

Archer is great until you get shot. If you run an xl you die fast. Squishier than a rifleman even. Far squishier than my catapults. It is like night and day.

Good job with those quirks PGI, good job indeed.

And here I was thinking I'd get a LRM mech that can do face time for artemis and tag goodness, because, you know, long range brawling.

Hitboxes will be fixed, sure, but they also need to be XL friendly due to how heavy the LRM gear is and how it cuts into ammo and mainly backup weaponry... But it still needs those quirks for them.
And someone please take a look at the agility of the mech, it seems kind of... tectonic in places.

Pretty much all the criticism we pointed out is true. *shrugs* I don't want an ubermech. I just want a survivable one. Even better, I was running the Tempest which actually has structure quirks. As we suspected, those side torsos just pop easily.

Still it looks amazing and I do like it a lot. It just needs some survival help at the moment and real lrm quirks.

Not going to revise? dam I decided to buy after hearing they would revise the quirks, I didn't like the initial quirks and was going to wait. maybe I can return it for now until they revise.

Is that official they will not revise for now?

Thanks

I think I'll be asking for a refund, this mech is not worth the money. So many other mechs are will be much better than this one for some time. Very squishy.

This on the other hand:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...bd03fa0ffd6571e

Runs nice and cool, 56 dmg alpha with no heat penalty. 8.44 sustained dps.

Why waste a ton for the CASEs? The arms are likely to get shot off before the ammo blows up, and if your leg goes, it won't matter.

If the ammo explodes in a leg the damage transfers through the ST into the CT, unless it's cased. you're right that it's no big deal though. You could take a bap ,ams or extra ammo instead.

Or you could drop to 6 tons of ammo, add a heatsink and up the engine to 305, that's probably the strongest option: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...366b19d6dba90f9

That's not how CASE works. It prevents damage transfer OUT of an area, not into it - CASE in the side torso doesn't protect the ST from leg based ammo explosion, it just protects the CT from a CASEd ST explosion.

Wow LRM damage is incredibly low...

I got 3x LRM10's, survived the entire match, constantly chain fired on locked on targets and still only managed to do 300 damage.

Unless you mean stopping damage transfer in the ST rather than Leg > ST > CT, but that's silly because there's a 60% reduction with each step, and only damage in excess of what's required to destroy the leg, then ST (after reduction remember) is reduced again and hits the CT.

Totally not worth the tonnage. Not when an ammo explosion in your leg is unlikely, AND that for this situation to come to pass you'd need to lose a leg AND side torso for it to even matter in the first place.

Silly.

Yes I know. I didn't say it protected the ST, it protects the CT from damage going through a destroyed ST from the leg. That's what Gman129 told me at least when I asked why he put a case on his Centurion, he did it so ammo explosions in the right leg wouldn't kill him after he lost his right torso to shielding.

It's not relevant anyhow, I agree that the Cases aren't doing much work and the point of my post was that you can build a full srm archer 5W with no heat penalty by combining 5 srm2 and 4 srm4

You can imagine that I'm somehow arguing for case being worth it if you think it's fun have a person to look down on and call silly, but I'm not arguing that and that wasn't my point in the first place.

Yeah, that weapon loadout is awesome.

But after some testing think the optimal build is actually this: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...34d71a0239d6835

At first I thought it was best to group arms - torso split, but after playing with it I like the missile door - non missile door split better, because then you can keep your doors down when hiding and not disrupt convergence of your volleys if you forget to open them. It also seems better to max out the firepower and ammo in your torso after arms fall off.

I'm liking 5x LRM5 in torsos, with 2xSRM4 each arm.

Archers without any LRMs just feel ...wrong, lol.
