Look up NovaWolf same as DWF but XL400, goes WHK speeds, but thats about it,
sadly would still get stopped by Light mechs and Pebbles, :)
honestly, I don't have trouble with light mechs. I actually have been hunting them lately on assault model I hang at the base and usually get a free kill. If it was faster, it would require no skill to use.

A masterful bit of trolling, this.

A word of advice: I remember the OP from the Wargame RD forum. His threads were never to be taken serious.

For the record, No jenner ever had lower arm actuators.

And there´s a really simple reason for it... so simple it´s just stupid.

There is no such thing as a Jenner with lower arms.

Think about it, the lower arm actuator is essentially an elbow... And what good does an elbow do you when your arm ends at the shoulder?

What do people expect, a fully articulated steel plate with hands? Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

I never said the IS version dont have the same flaws...

All i was saying is that we only have badly flawed IIC mechs so far - but thats no reason to think Clan Battlemech = bad, because the thing making them bad is geometry and hardpoint counts, not anything about the tech.

If dire wolf was any faster, there wouldn't be a need for any other mech on the battlefield.

thats completely false. direwolf could go 60 and it still wouldnt be great. but at least its speed would be acceptable.

I don't know; it would be sad but no surprise. Eugen made well intentioned but imho painful mistakes since ALB...

... and a few of those were made because they actually listened to loud minorities in the forum creating the impression they were a customer majority. But despite this personal opinion of mine, which may be wrong anyway, I still respect and admire Eugen's enthusiasm and willingness to listen.

What about them? They are slow, have no structure/agility quirks like there IS cousin, and have less than ideal hardpoint layouts.

You can mount single heat sinks!

Which means you can give it enough heat capacity to actually fire 4CLPL more or less constantly!

So Jenner IIC is better, cause all light is need is firepower. See, "origins" mechs is better in 2 main categories - light and assault.

This is where i stopped reading.....

If this was the Case the Sadder (Adder) would be one of the premier light mechs in the game, my Gauss Adder would love to hear you talk more about these things though...

Do go on.

DWF currently arent even fast enough to keep well piloted lights off their tales, Im sure in the underhive this may be true but its isnt a rule of MWO.

IICs do needs alittle abit of love,
(Please Note the Little Part),

and OmniMechs do need Love,
But love that wont make the Strong Stronger,
such as allowing OmniMechs to Removed Non Engine DHS,
MLX= 3(No Extra Tons, you still need them but you can put DHS Anywhere you want)
ACH= 1(No Extra Tons, See Above)
KFX= 3(No Extra Tons, See Above)
ADR= 2(No Extra Tons, See Above)
NVA= +4Tons -4DHS
WHK= +7Tons -7DHS
EXE= +1Tons -1DHS
DWF= +3Tons -3DHS
This Could work as TBR/SCR dont Change,

I'd go a step further and include all fixed equipment, except the engine;
MLX - 6x JJ - 3 tons
MLX - CAP - 1 ton
ACH - 6x JJ - 3 tons
KFX-S - 6x JJ - 3 tons
ADR - Flamer - 0.5 tons (Oh wait, this already happened! Posted Image)
SHC - MASC Mk II - 2 tons
SHC - 6x JJ - 3 tons
NVA - 5x JJ - 2.5 tons
SMN - 5x JJ - 5 tons
TBR-S - 5x JJ - 5 tons
EXE - MASC Mk IV - 4 tons
DWF-S - 3x JJ - 6 tons

Ok, maybe not the underlined ones as they aren't nearly as tonnage starved and 2 of them are only on 1 set of Omni-Pods anyway. This has nothing to do with me wanting a better Thor though... honest!

Narc's HGN-IIC-A

I run an XL300. Yeah it's marginally slower and marginally less agile but even with max engine the damn thing doesn't really turn any better and I get more armor on the shield arm (I have never lost a leg in one of these things even with 40ish armor but why take the chance) and only slightly less cooling than DHS.

Plus I've got like 100 heat capacity meaning I can more or less alpha twice without shutting down. Or alternate 2xCLPL for more or less as long as any enemy is going to live.

I agree 100%... And I kind of thought that was whrer you were pronbably going, but we actually have had people complain about jenners, locusts, BJs, jagers and such not being able to swing their arms side to side, so I kind of figured a bit of sarcastic humor might be in order to make sure nobody jumps on that train and rides it into the side of a mountain where it inevitably ends Posted Image

It does kind of depend on teh assult as well as it´s pilot, though... A dwf or KC, sure, free lunch... but an atlas can already be more interesting due to the arm sweep... when you start going up to things like Warhawks, Victors or Battlemasters that are more mobile, the fight gets exponentially fairer for the assault mech. One thing I also regularly notice is people driving DWs with jumpjets but not actually using them to increase their rotational mobility....

Skill of the light pilot is also crucial. At higher levels the light has the advantage because the pilot won´t blindly circle, but will try to use his mobility to stay out of the front firing arc. But it only takes one mistake to put you in that front arc, and then you "might" be in big trouble as a light pilot Posted Image

The only origins mech I really enjoy is the orion. The jenner is fun but seems very fragile compared to other lights. The hunchback is just paper, coupled with mostly torso hard-points so it can't shoot well up or down. (try taking out a uav with that thing...) The highlander, well it speaks for itself.

While I thought they were going to be better than omnimechs, they aren't. They have plenty of weaknesses to make up for the clantech advantage in a battlemech.
