I have a couple simple questions and somewhat of a suggestion.

First off, why does only the lasers seem to work right when chained?
What I mean is; lasers, when chained, may be clicked rapidly to fire faster than the .5 second delay. Fast enough that I can see the heat scaling when I'm running eight medium pulse lasers.

I actually quite enjoy being able to click like a fiend and hear the wubs rock! It's very satisfying! (Yes, it's not as effective, it's fun. I play to have fun.)

Now, I have a Dire Wolf with the aforementioned eight MPLs as well as three UAC-2s. I've tried chaining the auto cannons, but they are locked to a painful delay. No clicking, no speed, no fun. Sure, they work, yes I've used macros. But that's just not really what I want. I want to have that same clicking!

The same goes for my Mad Dog with six LRM-5s. It works fine with the current delay though, but what if I need to fire more missiles in a shorter time span? The only answer is to run a separate fire group with a section of them or turn off chainfire and take the ghost heat. Why can't I just click them faster and get similar results?


The second issue gets me back to my Dire Wolf. I have two machine guns to shore up an extra ton I have and two spare ballistic slots. When I'm firing the machine guns, the chained pulse lasers are now locked to the delay. No amount of clicking will help. That's wasting four guns; eight tons! So my C-MGs end up being mostly cosmetic. Not very rewarding when I have a cored Spider that I want to squeeze some extra damage into when my heat is high, but I need just a few hits more. I might as well just alpha the bugger and take the shutdown. Sorry, I'm not TheB33f, I don't find that fun.

Anyway, that's my spiel. Thanks to whomever may have consideration of my rant.

I've been curious on this sorta thing too, also why cant we chain fire weapon groups IE: 1,2,3,4,5,6 not 1,1,1,1,1

Ok, just bumping this one time.

I like the idea of chaining different groups, Omaha, but that may be really hard to code. Also, I'm not quite sure what that could do in a general since. Maybe hold a TAG for two seconds while missiles fire? Could be cool if it's something like that

Anyway, I found a concise suggestion after I spent some time since my rant. Why not just allow every weapon to chain the same way as lasers. I'm no programmer, but maybe it might simplify things that all weapons use the same coding as the lasers for chainfire?

Well, thank you for the history lesson on that.

I guess if it did work right for a bit before it got "fixed" again, we won't see it really work right again any time soon. It's disappointing, but I guess I'll get over it somehow, maybe by playing "Cookie Clicker" or something. :)
