I like the idea of King Of the Hill, but after we killed enemy mechs, we still had to stand around until timer ran down.... also I couldnt change who i was spectacting

Match needs to end of enemy team dies

It's like some of us have been saying for years, due the way this game is set up every game mode is deathmatch.

Even if the game doesn't instantly end when one team is fully killed off, the surviving team is virtually guaranteed to win if there are no survivors to challenge them. Thus, killing all enemies still makes you basically win even you have to wait around for 5 minutes after you killed them.

With the popular attitudes of the player base, this will never change. You'll take your 4th deathmatch/skirmish variant, and you'll like it.

Yea exactly, except with conquest where there is a tiny chance a dead team can win, but im domination its literally impossible for a dead team to do anything, so it ends up being a waste of time

The worst part is that according to others that paid attention during the town hall, it sounded like PGI wants this to be the goto mode, even though Conquest is still the best mode.

Seems like they made a game mode that is absolutely perfect to farm c-bills on. Keep your opponents alive while you tick up the clock - shred every last piece of armor and component off of them.

The game should end immediately when one side is destroyed.

However, depending on the mode, the surviving team shouldn't necessarily be the winning team. Otherwise, the game will always be skirmish/deathmatch, just with a different name.

They should just rename the quickplay game modes as Skirmish 1, Skirmish 2, Skirmish 3 & Skirmish 4.

So long as respawns cant happen, that is how it will consistently play out.

I came here to post the same thing. A forced 3 minute wait time when the enemy team is dead is just silly.

I hate to say it but I agree, without respawning this is completely pointless

Sounds like the gamemode needs RESPAWNS....

Probably the best way to fix ... because if the gamemode just ended when the enemy mechs die... then its just another tarded version of Skirmish...

At least if there is more time left on the match timer than is needed to count down the objective.

The timer should significantly shorter. More like 1 min. Maybe then it would be worth winning via the objective and the mobile base would actually be worth destroying too.

Honestly, the thinking behind most of these gave modes is all wrong to begin with. Mechs are machines of destruction. It's counter-intuitive to have them doing anything other than destroying things. The game modes we got though... the "cap" based game types... are all game types originated under a respawning shooter system. Conquest isn't really designed to work under a single spawn system. I don't think historically king of the hill is usually done without respawns either.

Assault could be redone to focus on base destruction instead of capture and would be a much better mode for it. There are a lot of other mode types that would fit MWO better than conquest and domination. A version of rush would be great for CW. Asymmetrical modes would bea good fit. Escort missions once AI comes in... one team has to escort a mobile base to a map location, and the other team has to destroy it. Maybe the base starts in the middle of the map and slowly travels to the friendly extraction zone.

Maybe an extraction mode where one team has to cross the map and reach a friendly drop zone and the enemy has to prevent them from extracting.

I dunno. Lots of possibilities. But stand in a square for a certain amount of time is not really fun in a game about s tompy robots of destruction.

Yah, I'm having fun with it and don't mind waiting the extra 2 mins, but I get that people aren't going to like that.

Good call. Because, for all intents and purposes, it is a bug if the match is still going while the other team is dead. Surely, nobody would purposely design it that way.
