I have 3 Jager mechs and I was playing around with the DD variant. I put together this buid-

XL260 engine

Max Ferro Fibrous armor

6 MG guns with 10 tones of cases ammo in left and right torso

2 ERPPC in right and left torso

5 heat-sinks- 1 in head the rest in legs

So far i have done 250 dam+ with 2+ kills. Im not sure if i should keep it. I know there are better builds for it like the triple UAC5 but i want to bring in a new build for the Jager DD that people can use and love. Please tell me what you think, preferable from some who tried this build or is a jager expert

For those machine guns, I don't think you need 10 tons of ammo, maybe 4 or 5 tons max, but even then it may be a bit much seeing how you would primarily snipe with those ERPPCs.

Ummmm, to be polite, no, it's not a good build. Hex MG Jagers aren't good....and the less said about 10 tons of ammo the better.

For the sake of argument though, I'd go with 3 (half ton per MG) tons of ammo, STD 300 Engine, Endo-Steel, Ferro-Fibrous (412/422), 4 spare DHS (1 in each ST, 2 in Engine), AMS & half a ton of ammo.

Having said that, if I had to run a 6-MG Jager, (and I'd fight like hell to avoid it) I'd drop the ER PPCs and go with 2 LPLs instead of the PPCs. More damage, half the heat. Sure less range, but if you want to make the MGs worthwhile you have to be close regardless.

Tip 1) Case does NOT help an XL Engine for Inner Sphere mechs. (and even with a STD engine, I rarely recommend allocating tonnage to case.)

Tip 2) MGs arent very good against armor until it hits Internals... and even then, they aren't that great. So you need to have weapons that will open up the armor first, so PPCs are probably not the best weapon for the job. I am sure it can work, but in theory, they dont complement well when you consider how much tonnage you allocated to the MGs.
