Okay, technically it was only 698, but that's way more than close enough for government work especially since it wasn't a close match, but a 12-5 stomping that would have been even worse if I hadn't been doing everything in my power to carry in my paper-mache, spit-wad shooting mech.
Oh, my 5W is running 5xLRM5's and 4xSRM4's. I like the 5x5 4x4 symmetry. It gives my mech positive feng shui which improves the flow of its chi and allows my ancestors to look favorably upon it (or as favorably as anyone can look at this weaksauce mech).
I also feel I should acknowledge the facey huggy Executioner who might very well be the worst Executioner pilot ever. The Archer has no armor quirks. It has weak structure quirks. Oh, and I'm running a 280XL engine that makes my delicate snowflake that much daintier.
He ran through my LRM5 stream and got right in my face. I figured that was the end of me, but I decided to go down swinging. He fired a full alpha at my twisted torso that pretty much all missed because apparently it's OP for me to not sit still. I did not miss with my SRM salvo, but it was kinda spread because it's hard to aim while you're running circles in a mech that was never meant to circle strafe. He kept firing as his weapons came off cooldown and for the most part none of that hit either. Then he jumped on my head.
Well, my SRM's are in my arms, so I had no problem going for the upskirt shot (and noticed his mech wasn't wearing any undies...eww....tea bagged by an Executioner). He then dropped down directly in front of me and landed a full alpha at point blank that turned all three torso sections various shades of orange and red. I landed my fourth or fifth SRM volley (I kinda lost count), then one of my teammates stol....err...secured my kill by shooting the Executioner in the back.
Then I went back to streaming LRM5's at red doritos which by this point was significantly more challenging as I had to get all my own targets in a cored mech.
p.s. If you're wondering why I bothered with this challenge, it's because someone mentioned getting a 300 or 400 or something damage loss in an Archer as proof of manliness or something, and I figured why not. It's not like any Archer but the Tempest is good for anything other than really spectacular losing efforts
