Hello fellow mech warriors!

So last year the Monitors had a successful 1v1 charity tourney for children's cancer research. While it was indeed fun for us this event did burn out "Soulstrom", our unit leader and main organizer for the event. He took a break from the game, and the mrs was not going to let him do this again. However he got a really nice letter from Tina Benoit, and the mrs changed her mind. So it looks like we'll be able to do this again.

However this time I want to alleviate Soul of some of the burden so I'm hoping to speak to a few people that have done these types of events in the past, perhaps even have more than one organizer (outside the monitors unit) for trust and transparency.

I also want feedback on what people would consider to be a fun (across all tiers), and yet competitive tourney? Do you want to see 4v4? 2v2? Custom objectives? Historical Battles? Maybe get a top notch players in a mech like the Battlemaster while everyone else drives an urbie with a small laser? Could definitely use ideas on this one... Doesn't have to be limited to one event, on one day anymore.

If you guys had feedback from our last event please leave it below so we can follow up to ensure better quality in any future panned event we have.

Custom games eh? Oh boy!

Maybe Cops and Robbers? In a cordoned off area such as the lower or upper part of River City quadrant 4-6 weaponless and flightless Lights must try to survive the chase of two Streakcrows for as long as they can. The winner can be decided in many ways, such as being the last Light to survive, or the Crow that gets the most kills, etc... Participant numbers can be customized, of course.

Orignals vs IIC

Stock 3025 tech IS Marauder+ Stock 3025 tech IS Catapult vs Timberwolf (Prime, A, B, C, D)

4v4 random IS stock mech lances? Balanced with TT BV? I always wanted to see how well TT BV held up in MWO...

Also... since I'm gonna be recovering from surgery for the next few weeks I could help organize stuff if you like. My body may be stuck in bed but that's no reason to not keep my brain active working on stuff.

As a fan, I'd definitely prefer to watch stock Clan vs IS mechs. Different tonnage limits, of course. Maybe 8 IS vs 5 Clan mechs in a given match. Or 5v5 or 8v8. But definitely stock mechs.

I'm sure other things would be fun too. 12v12 Urbie battle or whatever. I just wouldn't be as interested in watching those.

The BV might require some slight modifiers since TT doesn't exactly translate to MWO. I would however like to look into that sort of system since tonnage and weight class have nothing to do with a mechs performance in the field.

Well I could always use some thoughts on making these events. Reddit suggested 2v2 or 4v4 stock mechs only. Someone also suggested a campain styled tourney based on a BT event. I'm leaning towards a "what-if" scenario that could have occured and then maybe structure it around that.

I think BV 2.0 from TT would be a good starting point. From there it'd be simple enough to adjust the contribution of various components to the BV once you get a decent amount of statistical data.

If you're looking for a scenario to run, I'd suggest going through some of the older scenario packs that date to the early 90s before all the tech level 2 stuff.
