Merged these topics since they were essentially the same under different titles.

If they could do it, Jam communications, would be very interesting, the whole giving points thing was just a way to try and make people want to use a system that could be "jammed,"

In game voip has started becoming a staple of PC games but the majority are on games where players can run their own servers. This is done because developers can't moderate all the voice chat going in a game and thus provide a good service without drama to their customers. This isn't saying it won't happen, but it might not.

I hope we do have in game voip and it just comes with a warning that you might have bob the heavy breather or jimmy the potty-mouth.

I've been running a TS server for a long time now. Though why did you pay for it if you're hosting the server software?

Maybe a forum section for the different public teamspeak servers is in order? I know I would like to talk to folks and not bore my Lord of the Rings friends about MWO lol.

I doubt that such a system will make it in, that's almost unheard of in games. Chromehounds I believe was like that, until XBox party chat was introduced.

Unheard of? No. It has become a staple of almost every successful MMO game I know of, including the Call of Duty games & DDO. Personally I think it would be dropping the ball so to speak if they do not include in-game team chat.

Ah, in that case I would have to agree. An in-game team chat that others can spy on would be pointless, leading to exclusive use of 3rd party software.

lol yea true true... just thought of a way to do the stealing enemy intel without hte voice chat. Commander gives orders through a menu system ie setting nav points.(similar to Bf 2142) Lance mates get bonus points for doing things while following orders, enemy scouts could hack into those orders, observe what a mechs current objective is, Jam the objective or potentailly even re assign an objective send an enemy lance to the middle of nowhere. Friendly scouts could provide the counter measures for anti hacking

Hope to see all of you in the TS server. Been monitoring it since it went live, and so far, so good. Quite a bit of activity in there. Think we might have to fire up the old Game Ranger again tonight and try to get killed again... You game KingCobra? (Hope not KingCobra is an awesome pilot. Kills me way too much. LOL)
