My build would be something like this:ARC-5S
If you are having heat issues you can chain fire SRM2s in a brawling. You have some range with large lasers, and you still have two medium pulses and STD engine for when your side torsos pop.
By also going with SRM2s you do not need Artemis. This will save you some space and tonnage for ammunition. Also by walking away from large pulses you can gain so much more in tonnage to increase engine.
This build I think would fit my play style because I favor brawling but not being the first brawler into the fray.

Yeah I don't think this mech can pull off 3x LPLs unless I ditch the SRMs entirely. I'll continue to experiment, but your build looks promising. Thanks!

But noooooo that was just to damn OP for PGI.
Yet they let 74 pt alpha jenners run rampant.
I believe what we are seeing is the beginning of the the PGI Care Bear Mechs.
I can only imagine the QQ when the Kodiak hits.
Oh dat Clanker rage.
And the end is nigh.
Bad move PGI

That ghost heat though! That's why I'd use the single srm2, also the additional heatsinks.
I don't have the mech though, but if its got splat points, its getting splat loaded. I would even consider ditching the ML's entirely and just running an extra 4 tons of ammo because why not really - then you can have the range and CD for the srm6s. Or a xl325 and artemis with 13 tons of ammo, just because you can.

It's not the worst mech in the game.

I'll be honest I'd give them all the money to put a giant rainbow on my kodiac's tummy.

Play it safe, stay with the group and try to stay out of fire. You won't carry the game but it should suffice for leveling the mech.
Thoses LRMs are chainfired as a support weapon as your LPLs will do the most damage. Haven't tried that one, yet but it is the build I plan on using.

Enough ammo for 7.5 alphas, enough speed to maneuver in/out to land them. You post roughly 600 damage if you put your shots on target (accounting for some random missed missiles) and can output that in quick order. Takes care of holding your own and leaves you with MPL after you burn out your ammo to do some minor damage adding until you drop.

Try this build and run it in a support/flanker role.
