It happened ocasionally on a map or two where it could have been useful to know how deep or tall is something before you try to use it for cover or jump in/on it, but after the implementation of Polar Highlands i feel one of the biggest issues is the ammount of supposed trenches the map shows that in the end are just really gentle curves in the terrain and leave you exposed for 200 meters.

Having a toggle option to check the altitudes on the map could be extremely useful to know if that shadow you see on the map is going to be a good cover or not. That could help all those slow heavies that take minutes to accelerate and brake, and can't just peek or run across (and perhaps they'd get to love this map a bit more).

Having to open the map and hover the mouse over to check the altitude could be another option, slower game wise and maybe less problematic programing wise?

Another interesting change, specially for Polar but could be needed in Alpine and Frozen city is the ability to change the color. White over white is a pain, specially when you try to communicate with the team by designating locations.

great idea, just have multiple maps (satellite, topological, etc) that you can cycle between, toggle inversed colours, or even have a second minimap with the other map type (customizable)

and have the option to toggle the minimap to be static please
