Time to mow the yard once more. So in preparation I did a maintenance check on the mower, and used the manual as a guide. I couldn't help but notice the warning about not using the Lawn Mower as a means of trimming toenails. I'm sure there is a Jeff Foxworthy joke in here somewhere, but it occurred to me that before that was placed into the manual, someone had to have tried to trim their toe nails with a lawn mower. I don't think it could have happened in somewhere like Tennessee, a judge would have simply looked at the guy and said "You still got two toes left, what's you're problem?". So I'm guessing that it had to be in California or even Florida and the manufacturer of said lawn mower got sued, lost, and put the warning into the manual.

I'm constantly amazed by some of the warning labels on products. Yes, as ridiculous as some of them are, the company did put it there because some idiot did that ridiculous thing and sued over it.
My opinion is, if the company has to put a ridiculous warning label on a product because they got sued for misuse of the item, then they should be allowed to name the person responsible for the warning.
Just imagine seeing this on your mower "Thanks to Mr Fred Yokel of Jerkneck, Florida, the manufacturers would like you to know you should not attempt to trim your toenails with your lawnmower."
I bet that'd put a stop to a lot of the BS litigation we have to deal with in this country.

Not likely. As long as Fred Yokel got paid, he is not likely to care.

"Hold stick near centre of its length. Moisten pointed end in mouth. Insert in tooth space, blunt end next to gum. Use gentle in-out motion."
That's a quote from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Now also (paraphrased) something I see on the side on toothpick wrappers.
/smh
