Is this ever going to be available? When I first started this game I went with something lame and I'd quite like to change it so it's more representative of the games lore, but there's no ability to alter your name afaik, so will there ever be a chance to?

Cool thanks! Now to come up with a suitable name, do I go clanner or IS..hmm decisions decisions.

Difficult to answer such broad question. It's "your" choice - "you" will use that name.

If you want to really be serious then it depends on the Clan and, if super serious, their bloodnames.

Anything that works for Clans will work for IS.

I do wonder if people think about their names or how they would sound.

What sounds better "Major John Smith" or "Major ISmellLikeFarts"? When I look at pilot names I usually cannot take them seriously or even use them. I would be fine to say "Sean, incoming F5" but who can really say "Don't Shoot Me incoming F5"?

PGI really needs to implement something that uses pilot names.

Just don't name yourself Kerensky or you'll be mistaken for a troll.

If your having problems coming up with a name, use a searchengine to find a "random name generator". Alternatively, searching "common baby names in [country]" or "common surnames in [country]" can help with more realistic names.

Do note that clanners have no surnames, but do instead fight for bloodnames.

I went with Will Hawker, Hawker is a bloodname for several clans but sounds suitably IS to.

Now see that is a name you can use of VOIP or TeamSpeak. Good choice.

Thanks, I did find people had some minor problems with my original name, either way I just wanted a more traditional pilot name.

Bloodname typical for the Diamond Sharks, but present in some other clans too.

Keep in mind that Clanners don't have family (or "last") names by birth. They earn them through combat from a small list. So if you want an IS or Clan appropriate name just stick to one first name.
