After receiving my first TK and penalty tonight (err..this morning??) when a teammate charged into my air strike, I realized there were a few minor changes to the team damage/kill system that PGI could make that would improve gameplay. Then I realized there were a few more rules that would really, really improve gameplay, especially solopugging.

The Stand Your Ground Rule - If a teammate damages you, you can return fire penalty free for the remainder of the match. You will even get full credit for damage done, components destroyed, and the kill.

The Darwin Rule - If a teammate runs into your already fired weapon or artillery/air strike, you can finish them off in order to improve your team by subtraction.

The Russian Army Rule - If any assault mech which was facing an enemy turns its back to that enemy, you can kill them for cowardice under fire.

The Mechwarriors Against Drunk Driving Rule - If a teammate runs over your mech in the first 30 seconds of a match causing you to suffer armor damage to your legs, you can shoot at them freely for the next 30 seconds. If you score a headshot kill during that time, you receive 1 million c-bills bonus for achieving your DUI arrest quota.

The *** Ba Yah Rule - If anyone types a bad word into chat, you can not only kill them, they'll be resurrected so you can kill them again.

The Bishop Steiner Rule - If someone has more than 35,000 forum posts, they can be killed for being insane.

The LRM's Are Awesome Rule - If you damage a teammate who is carrying at least 1000 LRM's, you blow up instantly for attempting to interfere with the mostest awesomest teammate you have.

The Why The Frak Don't We Have Rear Facing Cameras Rule - If you run directly behind a teammate preventing them from being able to get back under cover, they can turn and shoot you until you move 500m away from them.

The Kill Da Wabbit Rule - If you attack an Archer with its ears up, you are marked as hostile including the red dorito and everything to everyone on the map. That should more than balance the Archer without need for any new quirks.

The Alien Resurrection Rule - If you face hug an enemy causing your teammates to damage you, your game exits and you will be forced to watch the entire Alien Resurrection movie before being allowed to queue again.

The Love Your Noobs Rule - If you still have cadet bonuses remaining to be earned, you suffer none of the penalties from any other team damage/kill related rule.

The Blatant Cash Grab Rule - If you equip a special Team Killer module that can only be purchased for 25,000 MC, you can kill one teammate per match without penalty.

The Brown Nose Prevention Rule - If you send a tweet to Russ, you are flagged as free-to-kill for the next hour.

The Skirmish Sucks Rule - If the game mode is Skirmish and your team has 11 kills, a 30 second countdown timer starts. Once that timer reaches zero, all pilots who voted for Skirmish which allowed the enemy rabbit to troll everyone by running away become hostile while at the same time having their weapons all removed and their engines set to Urbanmech.

The K-Town Rule - If you report this post trying to get it sent to K-Town, you get flagged as free-to-kill forever.

I take.offense that the Bishop Steiner rule only kicks in due to forum posts. I'm insane, and deserve being shot at but I don't have a time machine or the ability to alter reality so there's no way I could reach the necessary quota. Discrimination at its worst...

So you can't get shot for that one, but there are so many other ways to get yourself shot.

Of course, if you were actually insane, you'd have realized that, so I'm starting to have serious doubts about your mental instability. I'll bet you are not only sane, but you also brush your teeth, and wear sweater vests when it gets chilly around the house.

#8 is If at first you don't succeed, call in an airstrike.

Prolly more what you were going for is:

#1 Friendly fire isn't
#28 Incoming fire has the right of way.
