I did some research and found out that Piranha Games has made two games before Bass Pro Shops: The Strike and Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza. They also helped other developers make some other games like Duke Nukem Forever, Need for Speed: Undercover and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza IGN Review [5.5/10]: http://ign.com/ga...-plaza/pc-16407

Obviously they did not pay IGN enough for good reviews. Needless to say I di not pay much heed to reviews from IGN, they have never had good reviews for games I have enjoyed.

Not to mention IGN gave R.A.G.E. from ID an 8.5...it did not deserve that rating at all. It deserved FAR lower.

I think Transformers looks the best even though the youtube guy didn't like it. Has anyone played any of these games? I'm gonna get Transformers.

They worked on a transformers game?
That means they have a lot of experience with 'Mech style' combat simulators.
I am so glad I bought the legandary founder pack...

EDIT: I just figured, when Paul is going to read this he will never give me my beta invite, not even on August 7th... :(

Played Nakatomi Plaza, which was ok for a game based on the old lithtech engine from a technical pov, it was not great gameplay wise but i had my fun with it. Got it from the bargain bin, would've probably felt let down if i payed full price for it though.
I also played DNF, but only the PC release and never touched the multiplayer so i can't comment on the work done by Piranha Games there.

I knew that before i invested in MW:O though, i still decided to buy the founder's pack cause the material shown so far looks promising and i've got a big softspot for giant space robots murdering each other in general and particular for the battletech/mechwarrior setting.

Haven't played any of these games. But what does this has to do with anything? Are you saying PG has a bad resume or something?

Problem is, even if you're one damn talented programmer or 3d artist... as long as you're not hired as "creative director" or "lead designer" or seomthing like that you're supposed to do what your boss tells you. You can say "ah, but that's not going to work out well, boss" but most of the times you get to hear something like "I know, but we have to keep the timeline in mind and that's why we go with the quick and dirty solution".

Bottom line... those previous titles don't necessarily have to say anything about the programming and design qualities of the PGI folks. What I see in the videos they really seem to shine at making MWO.

You don't make a refund you get a refund and beggars can't be choosers, this is the only mech game out there. ;)

MechWarriorOnline IGN Review [5.0/10]

You forgot the points:

Pros:
- Nice graphics
- I shoot things!

Cons:
- Too hard for me
- No respawn
- No zombie mode (like, srsly, ***?! In today's age and no zombie mode?!)
- Shutdowns
- Lights are OP
- Mediums are OP
- Heavies are OP
- I can't hack this game!
- This is not true Modern Warfare: Online....
- Team game (when can I show my uber leet skills?!)

You are aware that he's joking, cause there is no IGN review of MW:O yet, only a preview which looks rather optimistic and positive about the title.

Well for one everyone knows that movie video game suck, mostly before they are on a deadline to complete it and have to listen to the movie producers on what the game should be like. And if we know Hollywood producers are idiots.
