can they even fix the 'spawn problem' on some maps such as the massive snow map?
Some maps should not be available for such modes because lets face it the larger the map the harder it will be to fix the problem.
I don't think there is a way that will not cause some people to get angry on ether side.
they need to increase the time back from one minute to three or more to help those with slower mechs to try and aid their unit, and domn is as I said before a light & fast medium mech's mode and unless they can truly fix it and not put a band-aid on it I just don't see how well it will work out.
I still question if russ was drunk when he allowed that mode to go live and or high when he dropped it from 3 to 1 minute.

On the bigger maps they could put Alpha lance where it is now. Charlie lance halfway to the domination point, And Bravo Lance in-between. There are lots of available solutions. But if they change everything every time someone has one bad match, then no one will know what actually works. Give them time.
The reasons for going from 3 to 1 minute was discussed in depth on the forums and on twitter after the patch release. With the comment that 1:30 probably would be the sweet spot.

well then you won't give a whatever at 24 hour suspensions...because that's what enough grieving flags add up to.

@NC
don't have a twitter(never felt the need to have one & still don't), still there is no 'sweet' spot when it comes to anything slower than a fast medium, and to be honest I am not sure if there is a way to really fix domn from being a fast mech's game to an everyone's game.
they just need to do away with it on large maps, that would I think fix some of the problems right there as it shouldn't be on large ones that clearly make it unsuitable for anything lighter than mediums.

I can see points on both side of this argument.
Voting, I think, is a great and necessary feature, give players some agency in what map/mode they'll play while acknowledging that everyone has different tastes and every now and then we all have to suck it up and deal with it.
But the OP makes a good case too. You should have some idea of what you're getting into before you equip/config your Mech. There's nothing worse than painting your close-range brawler heavy jet black then spawn in Alpine Peaks Conquest, or get your BJ-1X laser assassin just right only to spawn in Caustic Valley.
I'd like to at least be able to rig for expected conditions.

The better solution would be a hybrid of both voting and opting out. It's not hard to figure out : Make it so you can only check off 1 game mode.
Then, during matchmaker queue, the queue gets seperated into 4 groups, namely Conquest, Skirmish, Domination and All. Players in the Conquest queue cannot play conquest as they turned off conquest, vice versa. When the matchmaker finds a match everyone is compatible with, then you've got a match and you continue to the voting stage.
You're not really seperating the player base since the matchmaker pulls from the exact same pool as right now.
Failure to understand how this isn't a detriment to the game is just blind fanboyism to PGI.

Well, actually the playerbase would be split into 5 groups.
Skirmish, Assault, Conquest, Domination and All.
The matchmaker would be only able to choose out of max 3 groups to leave 2 game modes to vote from.
As an example:
Matchmaker chooses Players out of the All, Conquest and Domination group which means they can vote between Skirmish and Assault gamemode, because at least one player denies Conquest and at least another Domination.
Under the asumption each group is 1/5 of the playerbase you can always just build a match with 3/5 of the available Players, where Players in the All group have the best odds to find a match.
Realistically those groups will never be likewise the same population.

This game feels so random now just based on map selection. I used to be okay with jumping into any map, but now many players seem to select Polar based on their build which is what I wanted a while ago. Choosing your mech after you vote in a map... which isn't exactly what's currently implemented but anyways it appears that players can still coordinate all their LrmBoat Maulers and Cheetah-flanking mechs into the "appropriate" maps. Causing chaos for us random-Pugs.
I must repeat: I wanted this. Coordination of your mech build to the map you would excel in. (PPC-Adder -> Polar Highlands) But I humbly say now that this demands everyone gets to coordinate with this type of map voting. And that only makes me more nervous. ... Will this support/suggest a LRM-Only team with a few spotters be the type of team-format you'll ALWAYS see on Polar Highlands? It's already nuts. No one wants to brawl near the 180meter limit with IS Lrms anymore, they hide as if the rest of their team will brawl for constant locks or someone with NARC is present to help make use of their distant-damage dealing build.
THIS DEMANDS COORDINATION. It could be an even more fun team game... but no one has the guts to move with the team anymore. I think mwo was better without this voting system, when it was simpler... it's getting over-complicated for the random pug-games... Hence, I think they're new learning-curve(which is already steep) is game-broken. Cause with this system in place, here's what's implied:
-You have a CQC(close quarters combat) build... choose VIRIDIAN BOG
-Got your Lrm40+artemis + cap + tgtcompMK4 MadCat? POLAR HIGHLANDS
-Got your Gauss-Jager? THERMA
-Are you a troll with a saved up multiplier? THERMA. Extra chaos for you.
-Got a good TBolt with 7 mpls? Maybe RIVER CITY. You'll be prepared for an inner-city brawl.
...and remember...
-DEMOCRACY RULES.
-The LRMBOATS vote 10/24 for POLAR
-THE ERPPC/ERLL SNIPERS 6/24 for POLAR -or- PLEXUS
-The LPL/ML Laser Brawlers and SRM/sSRM Brawlers: 8/24 for VIRIDIAN -or- MINING COLLECTIVE
...that is this logic applies if everyone votes according to their build.
...anyways...
The random teams gathered... are 2/3 fitted with a Long-Range build.
...
The Long Rangers are 60% on BLUE... 40% on RED.
Polar gets selected.
This is the case cause the MM only balances the WEIGHT CLASSES of mechs. NOT BUILDS.
...
Now time to see if your team makes use of each of your individual builds... or if they cower in a corner instead... or if they know how to play the selected game mode... with this imbalance.
...We need the no-vote, random-map selection system back.
(Or at least some pop-up in the battlegrid that shows us each of our teammate's builds. That'd at least remind us some of our teammates WILL NOT RUSH WITH US... when the brawlers rush. for ex. Unless if you ask in-chat/coms for help.)

I don't care about maps(well other than grim I hate that one) as I am fine with whatever is up its the mode selection I don't like, we need to just do away with that and allow random, I enjoyed random modes and more or less all modes are fine(save for that stupid domn one as it is the most brain dead mode they have at the moment).
