Camera shake has been an issue in MWO for a very long time now. Unlike other immersion features (e.g. cockpit monitors or cockpit glass), it is forced always on. As witnessed in all competitive matches ever, it does not prevent good play. However, it can easily stunlock rookie players, and it is still bothersome or downright nausea inducing to veterans used to dealing with it (hello, simulation sickness). It is about time to allow each player to decide whether they want the nearly constant shaking.

No. Shake is an advantage that is a side benefit of missiles and ballistics. You'd have to nerf lasers pretty severely to compensate for that, and lasers are already the strongest weapon system.
And no, it doesn't Stunlock rookies, though it does blind them. Those rookies can use that against other rookies too, it's a tool in their toolbox.

No. My AC/2 spam is not nearly as effective if the enemy's screen doesn't shake and make it more difficult for them to return fire. I'll oftentimes also fire my Clan LRMs at close range, not for damage but just to shake the enemy up and make it more difficult for them to aim. Screen shake is more than just immersion fluff. It's a tool that can be used tactically to give someone an advantage in a fight. You remove screenshake from the fast firing ACs then one of their primary pros, which is that of suppression, kinda goes away. I don't know how many times I've gotten a 'mech that could have easily killed me to back down by shooting them with an AC/2 because even though I'm not doing that much damage, all they see at that moment is "OMG GETTING HIT BY SOMETHING BIG" because their screen is shaking all over the place every time a shell smacks into them.

Let's have a "stop getting hit by high velocity projectiles" toggle.

Shaking is a valuable part of "crowd control" so NO.

lerning to ignore it is a valuable pilot skill. besides its about half what it was at one stage. I still which it would scale more for larger balistics and smaller mechs. I'd love to see a light laid flat on its arse when hit with an AC20.

You can replace full screen camera shake with reticule shake/temporary weapon inaccuracy. This was demonstrated with the MASC implementation. It has the same effect of disabling accurate fire without potential health consequences.

Im calling absolute BS to your request, especially after this post... this potential health risk crap is not going to change if only a part of the screen is shaking instead of the whole screen.
What is potentially risky to health is the difference in movement between 2 parts of the persons view (Wall and monitor or one part of the monitor to another is already enough here). Even just moving your mech alone without any shake or explosions is enough for some highly sensitive people... These are also the ones who should not play this sort of game in the first place of course. Therefore having only the reticule moving differently than the rest of the screen is already potentially risky in itself if you want to go down that line of thinking.

weapons in mwo have more functions than just "damage"

honestly, if playing the game puts your health at risk, I don't want you in my games ... I don't want responsibility for your heart attack ....
not having screen shake, would be a definitive advantage to certain mech builds .... the hula girl, is not a lie ....
