We have all seen the effects of the big teams in Fraction Warfare. Teams like Merc Star and 228 literally draw the map however they see fit - and that is great! However, it is really destabilizing for those houses and clans. These teams are not jumping to opposing houses and clans. They are following one another to a single fraction and pushing on a front together.

Look at Wolf and Jade Falcon today (3/30). Jade Falcon has a single planet and Wolf has just 2. These clans cannot maintain a population to survive in the rough-and tumble Inner Sphere. However, I have a suggestion (in a multi-step process):

1.
Make all clans "loyalists".

This will fit the lore and the anti-merc sentiment of the clans.

2.
Assign each big unit to a specific clan. Make them loyalists to that clan. Ensure no clan has no more than one big unit.

This will create a "base" for each clan. It will also pit the big teams against one another rather than having them follow each other around.

3. Allow individuals to change clans - with a penalty (not units). Maybe the usual penalty for breaking a contract, but also maybe 1/2 XP for the first week (as a bondsman period).

This will allow those folks who joined a big team to find somewhere more fitting, if they choose. In addition, it will stop the "Mech Bay Tours".

With CW3 on the horizon, the big teams will have a better chance of controlling a fraction and where they attack. They should be positioned against each other, rather than death balling from a single fraction.

That said, I want to thank MS for creating a border with the FWL. Now we are able to join the fun, rather than dealing with backstabbing Davion's and Liao's.
