Wanted to see if anyone can help ID a mech game I used to play on PC...
I'm gonna guess a year and say 1998-2000 but I might be way off.

I've watched the 1989 thru 2012 youtube video on Mechwarrior games, it is not one of those as far as I can tell.

Graphics-wise it was not as old-looking/ pixelated as MW2, not as new looking as MW4.
MW3 seems closest to what I remember, but the mechs look different.
As I recall, mechs were more of a tall, straight torso on legs and weapons stacked up on either side of the torso.

Some things that may help identify:
1st person and 3rd person point of view
You could pilot a flying mech
Only 2 mechs I remember were called Samson and Colossus
The cover art for MW2 looks very similar, maybe the game in question was a later verson or knock-off.
Most maps were vast plains with rolling hills and waypoints set at factory-looking bases.
When you would get near the waypoints enemy mechs would show up
There was a mechlab/ mechbay, after a misson you would repair damaged components, salvage components, reload ammo and rebuild.
A cut scene or opening scene showed a planet and the camera panned to the dark side where there was an illuminated base

I think the Samson mech and flying may be the key to identifying as they do not show up in any searches but I most definitely remember them.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Earthsiege II, Developed by Dynamix and published Sierra.

The only other thing I could think of would be StarSiege,

but the Samson and Colossus were not in that one.

Earthsiege 2 thats it!

Thank you very much.

Will definitely buy a copy on Amazon for $0.25
I remember this game being very cool, will be interesting to see how it stands the test of time...

This was the first mech game I played so when I think of a mech I think of these.

I kinda think the mech styles in Earthsiege do look pretty damn cool even now.

Earthsiege was pretty cool. Human piloted giant mechs vs. Robotic overlords in a desperate battle for the survival of the human species. I like to see the franchise --- the timeline ultimately leading to Tribes --- resurrected one day.

If you're heading through memory lane don't forget Starsiege (essentially ES3).

ES2 was my favorite.

Wow didn't know you were still here. Earthsiege is one of my favorite mech games actually.

Still checking on news once in a while but probably won't be here a lot. I have signed up again on my old MMO and has reinstalled, so I will be catching up on things there and likely refund my undelivered mech packages on MWO.

ES universe games like Mission Force Cyberstorm and its sequel are also among my favorites though these are turn based strategy games.
