1: Never, ever, ever do triple monitor. The headaches aren't worth the couple minutes that it actually works flawlessly in that one AAA title.
2: If you want ultrawide, Samsung is about to release, or has already released their super duper ultra wides. They're like 24:10 or something. LG is doing the same thing iirc. But alot of games don't support ultrawides anyway and then you have to play with big black boxes on either side. On the plus side if you watch movies you will have no black boxes 21:9 is the cinematic standard for the most part.
3: Just go 4k or 1440p. It's the best route for a superior experience as far as dazzling quality. Maybe a little less immersive, but you get the benefits of higher resolution and no headaches as far as support and future proofing. A 4k or 1440p monitor could easily last you 3-5 years. Depending if you want to jump on the 8k train or whatever after that.
TL;DR: Trips monitor is excessive and unimpressive. Ultrawides are sometimes problematic. High res is the way to go.

Keep in mind the number of video outputs on your video card use to be a limiting factor but newer monitors now support MST (Multi-Stream Transport) which allows you to daisy chain up to 4 monitors now.
The biggest drawback with multiple displays is the bezel; even on the display I tested; while they shrunk the plastic bezel to <1cm; there is still a 1/4 inch black border on the edge of the screen. Which means you have about 1/2 black border between each display.
My personal opinion on (3) curved monitors; for immersion purposes it is fantastic, it does add to the "feel" of piloting a giant mech. But the fact MWO at times is closer to a FPS than a Mech Sim it is a pretty large handicap when you are piloting or fighting against Light Mechs.
The real problem was (3) 34" side by side requires a really long table; which is impractical for most purposes. (2) 34" displays was the right size for me but with the targeting reticle stuck in the .5 of bezels it is very large handicap for aiming.
I think later this year we will see OLED monitors, ie. Dell UP3017Q which should improve the bezel issue significantly when using multiple displays.

As you can see at bottom I use the LG 60'' smart tv and it does very well. Maybe if you do consider it, a smaller smart tv for the fact that they are already set up as a computer themselves.

I have been running triple monitors (5760x1080) for more than two years. What headaches should I be encountering? Because I haven't had a single issue. I don't play this game to impress anyone and have a quality PC that can handle three monitors on max settings at 60fps.
