Joke aside, it is never a bad idea to place a copyright notice on or in proximity to your creative works. You don't need to register the work itself (you certainly can), but letting people know that something is your creation (via the notice) lets others know that this work isn't just some random, image, gif, video, etc. but is yours, and you value it, and that maybe they should think twice before using it without permission. Just an FYI.

TBH, maybe a little notice that they were using it or a "hey, we thought that gif you made was cool so we're using that gif you made in our streams".
