Favorite Hopeless Mech?

I've been whacking away at unlocking my Awesome 9M with its canon loadout, and I have a pretty good time playing it in pub even though there's really nothing to recommend the Awesome in MWO. The Atlas-size target it presents, the way PPCs aren't pulling their own tonnage compared to other weapons, pretty much everything. What are some of your favorites from TT or the earlier games that just don't work in MWO, but you still like to dust off and play sometimes?

Sure, I can get a good game if my opponents are braindead (I have a much to upload where I did 700 damage and 3 kills because people were bad).
I like to put an UAC20 on it. Wish the ammo quirks would come.

Are we talking Mech you find "hopeless", or community opinion deems so?
If we are talking one that I refuse to sell or give up on, despite not doing well in it, that would be the Warhammer family of mechs. Mind you, I could Metahump with them, and watch my stats do a 180º. But then, what's the point of running my favorite Iconic Mech, if I have to bastardize it so badly it resembles that Mech in name only? 4xAC5 ain't a Warhammer. Warhammers have PPCs in their arms. If I don't want to try to make that work, well, I should have bought a Grasshopper or Black Knight. But again, I acknowledge it's my PoV that tanks it's overall performance vs it's potential, and I won't sell them, because as stated, Warhammers are my favorite mech in the franchise, even if they are not clicking for me well in this iteration.
If we are referring to one communally thought less than desirable, then it's my Summoner Prime.
Worse, I run it bone stock, not even optimizing components, but literally running it how it came out of the box, except for the paint job. Fortunately, much like the VND, I make it work, and as such, have no real complaints. It's not my Stat Overlord, but I feel more accomplishment maintaining a 1.7 KDr in it than I do in packing a 3.0 in my TBR which any fool can maintain a good KDr in, even driving half drunk or asleep.

Well, they are the pride of House Liao, so why should one expect otherwise?

Though I admit it was never a favorite in TT, the Panther 10P is one that many seem to feel is hopeless in MWO but which I think is a ton of fun. BTW "Ballistic Panther" would be a great band name.
As to a mech more appropriate to the OP's question: Gotta say the Dragon or Archer. I loved both in TT but I will be damned if I can make the Dragon work in any role that doesn't start with the preface of "short lived". As to the Archer, in TT it is supposed to be the preeminent LRM mech. I have managed only 1 LRM build on any of the Archers, and even this one fails to use the iconic LRM 20s. So while it is adequate for MWO play it still feels like it just doesn't work the way it is "supposed to".

Once upon a time they were viable to even OP, hard to imagine these days.

Mainly the ones that the community deems hopeless, and that have been proven to underperform compared to their peers/TT originals. I'm hopeless with LRMs and not that great with wubwubpuke, so there are some mechs out there with legitimately top-tier metabuilds that I'm hopeless with, especially the Jager.
And oh man, yeah, the Dragon. So solid everywhere else, so quick to die here.
