As long as they do not mention the "Pinpoint" skill tree, or the LBX, or the MG, my interest remains closed.

he mentioned some minor changes to lbx but couldn't remember exactly what they were, guessing it will be basic spread

They announced the features a long time ago, so I wasn't expecting them to suddenly say "Oh, and we're introducing aliens too" or anything like that.

And I'll take professional, boring Russ over joking, drunk Russ any day of the week. (No, I'm not fun at parties)

Me, I liked Drunk Russ. That town hall was hilariously fun.

This one, I drifted away a couple times. That wasn't just sober Russ, though, there was a lot in this town hall that just didn't interest me. Solaris I don't care at all about, and while I'd love to be super excited for CWp3 (ALL HAIL PHASE THREE) I long ago learned to not get too hyped about new large-scale features. Adopting a cautious wait-and-see approach, and taking everything said with a heaping dose of salt: Features always change and/or get dropped before launch of new features.

Judging by the very minor changes planned for PPCs i'm very cautious about the LBX changes.

They won't be nearly good enough. PGI isn't willing to make the changes that are required to make LBX's actually viable competitors to regular AC's, and there are enough ridiculously ill-informed or outright stupid players who think LBX's are great weapons (Crit seeking shotguns, yo!) that ensure PGI isn't very motivated to do anything.

Don't suppose he mentioned actually developing the game play of CW rather than only spending the last 6+ months trying to redesign the part of CW you don't even play?

If I understand your question correctly:
They're only working on the new stuff The 4v4 game mode and integrating this with 12v12.

They are not, sadly, doing anything to improve 12v12 matches. So zerg rushing O-gens will be an important part of CW forever, probably. Which is why I'm only playing 4v4, if the new game mode is actually fun and interesting. Actually, the new game mode would have to be just deplorably bad to make 4v4 unattractive.

I really, REALLY loved the 4v4 PTS they ran back a while. I deeply miss 8v8 play, and I'm ecstatic for 4v4.

Smaller matches means your contribution is critical. You can't carry, or be carried, nearly as much.

4v4 will be interesting for a pretty short term thing. But wasting all this time on what will amount to reduced match sizes?

.......... wow.

Grab some buds and enroll in MRBC for season 8. Great 8v8 there :)

Russ confirms that there's no pink camo colour in the game because Russ & Dennis were worried that it'd make the game look too silly and immature. He may reconsider, they're going to discuss it.

But they have Marik Violet in this game, which looks pink already. There is nothing immature and silly about "feminine" colored mechs. Did PGI forget that they released Heavy Metal? Now gawdy bright colors on a Tiger camo? That's blasphemy!

  • All rescales coming in June patch. Basically every mech in the game. A lot of quirk changes coming in June and July as a result.
  • Deckles coming in June patch.
  • New Frozen City in May or June
  • New Skill tree will be a priority after CW Phase 3 is out. It's "on top of the list".

Looking forward to those. Obviously happy that the "resize-ening" is happening so soon and that finally we'll be able to put decals on our rides during my lifetime. Please let's all pray that the new skill tree is worth the wait. ( on a per weight basis at least if not per chassis ) ...and I am REALLY happy to see that Frozen shoebox will be getting nuked from orbit... err.. I mean reworked. ( ok at least nuke the lemming village in B4 pls :P )

This is the first townhall I've listened to.

Three hours of time to have one hour's worth of actual discussion. Lots of circular talking, and after the Phase 3 part I lost interest and my half sober eyes started to glaze over.

As for the Phase 3, we'll see how that turns out.

They all can't be four hour long marathons of great news and boundless hype.
This one, sadly was as lackluster as the Viper will be.

During Town Halls I always wonder why they do it the way they do. It's not as if this would be a twitch live stream where Russ actually listened to the viewers. THey go around and collect questions beforehand on reddit and stuff.
Would be way easier to present the information in a less time-wasting manner.
It reminds me of old women going round and round about the lawn of the neighborhood - for hours. Always repeating stuff because they forgot they'd mentioned it minutes before.

  • 2 new map designers hired. A bunch of new people hired in the past few months. "The team is growing". The sky is probably not falling tomorrow.

This is where words matter. Did they say two map designers were hired for MWO or did they say PGI hired two new map designers? The team is growing? Same question, MWO team or the team at PGI?

MWO is not PGIs only property.

Non-customized.

Hope you like House and Clan symbols and the PGI logo.

Making zoom client-side is the highlight for me. As an aussie player, this makes a difference. Did Russ say when this will happen?

Which mechs where announced?
I saw a topic about the Dragonfly / Viper, but wasn't said it should be a complete wave?

No wave, just the Viper/Dragonfly. Didn't mention which variants (there are more than three in timeline right now). No more mech packs.

•PVE will be "stand-alone". Whatever that means. Could be interpreted as an offline game with MWO assets, maybe.

Very cool

Anyone have a YouTube link for the town hall?

I turned twitch off after waiting for awhile
