I've elited my Locusts and am working toward mastering my PB. I was looking through the modules in the mechlab and they are all locked. The consumables seem to be unlocked but at this point I'm not looking for those.
I have over 20mill c-bills so cost shouldn't be an issue. Is there something I need to do to unlock them?

you need to first purchase the ability with gxp, then buy the specific module for c-bills, some abilities are sold in 5 steps like ac5 range 1-5, the owned module will evolve so if you buy a skill step1 then a module step1 when you buy skill step2 the module will be step2. its early, i hope this made sense.

So Its smarter to fully evolve/ upgrade a module to lvl 5 before buying right? My guess is that if I own, said lvl 1 medium laser range, then I upgrade it to lvl 5 a bit later. Will my lvl 1 module suddenly jump to lvl 5?

yes the module would become lvl5, myself i use LL cooldown 3 it increases my fire rate some but not so much as to overheat me (like cooldown5 would).i almost wish they didnt evolve, i would like a cooldown 3 on a 4LL and a cooldown5 on a 2LL mech.
