It would be cool if you could pay to 7̶5̶ 25MC to give a game you just played a one-time 50% cbill, 50% XP boost.

People get to capitalize on moments when they have a really great game and PGI gets people to spend more MC.

In the long run, it is more cost effective to have premium time but this one-off will create a low barrier for an impulse buy when they see "With premium time you could have earned X!" With this Cash Out idea, they can say, "Well, sh!t. Lets do it!"

And let it stack with premium time too...

EDIT: Don't get hung up on the MC I suggested...I just made up numbers for the sake of argument. It's the mechanic I'm proposing not the cost... Edited the OP to say 25MC which seems more reasonable

Sounds a bit slippery, if you let it stack with premium time, as now you have "double premium time" a simpler and more friendly solution would be to add a button that will activate premium time right then and there, but will retroactively include that match as a bonus.

It's not slippery (edit: or I should ask, what do you mean "slippery"?) and is exactly like "double premium time." It's more like a point-of-sale purchase than buying groceries....hence the higher MC cost. BTW, the MC cost isn't what I'm pitching...just the mechanic. Price should be whatever is appropriate.

implement it and everyone will wait till there's double xp/xbill days and then use it now I'm running 2x, 3x, 4x times rewards.

Oh and limit me and say I can't do? Get ready for endless QQ about not being able to do it.

Sounds good to me! x2 XP is to get people playing. If I could get people playing AND spending MC, all the better...

If done right, this is a good idea.

We've all had those days where we blow our 2 XP bonus on a "meh" win.. .and then a few games later, we have an excellent game, but already lost the 2 XP bonus. Allowing something like this makes sense and encourages people to keep tossing in a bit of real money after good games.

It sounds nice at first, but really I dont think there's any point to it. If you want more C-Bills, just get some for MC from the store. Let's face it... Who pays MC for C-Bills anyway? Just play more and keep both!
Mech XP? Doesn't matter anyway. Soon enough you'll have your mech's master effeciency and nothing else to spend Mech XP on.

Also, PGI would actually lose with this mechanism. A lot of people who might have thought about getting premium time will just use this only for their good matches instead. If there is any chance of people choosing this as an alternative to premium, you can forget about PGI ever implementing it (regardless if it does or doesn't stack).

So.... No.

Assuming Cash Out costs 25MC:

Vs Premium Time

1. Assuming:

- Premium time at its worst value, 250MC for 1 day (250MC/d)

- average of 7:30 games (8 games per hour)

- a night of 4 hours of play

That comes to 8 MC per game.

2. Assuming

- Premium at its bets value, 24,000MC for 360 days (67MC/d)

- average of 7:30 games (8 games per hour)

- a night of 4 hours of play

That comes to 2MC per game.

So, as long as the MC price for my Cash Out is more than both of those, premium will still be the better value. Even at 25MC for a Cash Out, it is still 5 times more expensive than the average MC price per game for Premium. Therefore, the two are not in competition with themselves.

tl;dr Premium is a better value.
__________________________________________________________________________________________

Vs Cbill Packs

Purchasing Cbills Packs:
1,100,000 for 800 MC is 1,375 cbills per MC
6,500,000 for 4,000MC is 1,625 cbills per MC

An average of 1,500 cbills per MC

For 25MC that would be 37,500 cbills.

With my Cash Out idea, assuming you used it on a 200,000 cbill win, you would gain 100,000 cbills for 25MC. That's three times as much IF you perform enough to earn 200,000 cbills (without premium).

So Cash Out would be better than straight purchasing cbills only if you perform well. Where as the CBill purchase packs are readily available with no requisites. Therefore, the two are not in competition with themselves.

tl;dr Cash Out would be better based on good play, Cbill Packs would be better with no regard to play.

Additionally, Planetside 2, a F2P FPS, sells character helmets for $10 and just put out a bounty system where you can mark an enemy for 25DBG ($.20) and their death grants 400xp. They also have "premium time" but small bits like this encourage spending of in-game cash (IE creating demand) in tiny, seemingly insignificant amounts.

MC, at its worse price, is ~180MC per dollar. At 25MC, one could do 7 Cash outs per dollar or...$.14 for a one-time Premium time.

This sounds fantastic to me. With super cheap prices this would be used a lot. Sounds excellent for PGI to rake in more microtransactions (which add up quick) and gives an alternative to Premium if people can't justify "subscription" based on how much they play at once.

Honestly, I can't see any way this could be bad really.

I hope it stacks too but my take from the Town Hall was that it was going to be a non-premium option. We'll see, eh?
