But 5E alongside a 1B or 2B arm would definitely be sufficient to make for a very nasty kitty.

It actually has a 3B arm which is kind of cool :D

The 3UAC5s with tight convergence will be cool.

really? after I told you not to argue or continue? you still do?

now you've done it, I thought I could trust you not to. I put my faith into you all that were arguing. now everybody has to suffer.

for today up until tomorrow around or earlier than this time, I'm closing this thread and taking care of all the reports that this thread created out of the friction and anger you all exerted.

you know who you are, as do others.

hey everyone, sorry for the late response, I wasn't able to come by here and open it up again. while all the reports aren't done, I wanted to give everyone else a chance to talk again.

Cut out the middleman and bring in the true boat mechs like the Longbow, Supernova and Kraken.

How would a Stone Rhino play out in the game as it stands? The art alone makes me want to get that genocide machine.

It would need some serious geometry work. If you think the Dire Wolf is big then the Stone Rhino is like two Dire Wolves taped together with gland problems.

Call me a dirty heathen, but I never understood people's fascination with the Stone Rhino. Its feet are so huge, it always reminded me of a cross between a Marauder and a clown. :\ On top of that, it can't run better loadouts than a DWF - though in MWO it can change engine sizes as it is a Battlemech. I'm not saying no to the mech, but what's the fascination with it?

Its my one blind spot in terms of rule of cool.. i just love the looks.

It will also be way better than the Dire, because XL300 + STD structure -> XL350 + ES structure only costs 1.5 tons and 3 slots, which is obvious, instantly, worth it.

Its competition is the Kodiak, which, since the KDK-3 got 4x high mounted B, will probably outclass the Rhino due to higher engine cap and humanoid geometry.

These are mechs that will eventually make their way into the game but I highly dought they will be the next Clan mechs due to what Russ has said, which is 2 Mediums and 2 Heavies omni mechs.

Now we have the Viper, so we have a Medium and 2 Heavies left.
It's a safe bet that one of those Heavies will be the Night Gyr, so the question really boils down to what will be the next Medium and Heavie.

I have my fingers crossed for the Huntsman, it's such a great mech. However I can see PGI putting in the Pouncer to give a more even spread with the Medium class by putting in another 40t mech.
I have no idea what the final Heavie will be. I'd love to see a Nova Cat but that is unlikely.

It may be better than the Dire at dakka, but that's about it, Gauss is potentially dangerous especially without the omnipod system to try and run asym Gauss like the Blood Asp and Whale.

Eh, idk the thing with the Stone Rhino is that it was already considered rare with in the Clans and many did not want to commit them to a fight because they "to valuable to lose" plus we won't get the Rail Gun it mounted on Mektek that many assume they will get that fire power. Plus larger SHOT me here CT cannon/pod. Also major lack of varriants it's one thing to make 1 up but an entirely different to create all 4 and a hero.

Actually it has 4 in-timeline variants. 4, 5, and 6 were retconned to be produced prior to the year 3000

Given that we were told the next mechs would be 2 medium and 2 heavy omnis, I am personally hoping the order looks like this:
Viper
Night Gyr
Huntsman
Nova Cat

Yes, I know the timeline is stretching for the Nova Cat (4 of its Variants have in timeline weapons, only 1 would have to made up or modified, plus the hero) but do you really think they will release the Linebacker? It's just so boring, and a second 70 tonner would be a better addition than a 3rd 65 tonner.

Fracking MekTek....

The Stone Rhino actually mounts two Gauss Rifles (one LT and one RT), that fire through the single dorsal mount....

Okay then, 'dirty heathen', the fascination for it I think stems from this:

the M.A.C. II Monster from Macross, only anime mech I know of that has it's weight listed over 200t, by the way, the over the shoulder cannons are 16" Navel guns....

Cause Mektek though fun, made alot of crap up not to lore and so it kinda broke that element that does add value to the game for many. Fudging hard points and/or cresting new mechs as MT though fun, didn't make it a Mechwarrior game or Battletech much anymore.

So yes I see why they don't what Mektek'ed styled stuff coming to the game cause it will crrate massive power creep.

Pretty much, i kinda miss mektek the forums in general, wasnt caring much for the packs. It just brought some more stuff in a game Microsoft left behind.

It was mechwarrior 4, a game with a completely different build system and completely different rules. The only thing that matters about Mechwarrior 4 in the context of MWO is the art. Thats all they could ever potentially bring out of that game.

Also TT nerds are apparently allergic to fun.

Damn, now who's salty.

I'm not even a TT nerd.

In any case, I'd love to have Gas Guzzlers mech list of...
Viper
Night Gyr
Huntsman
Nova Cat

Nothing but pure win.
