I just remembered this project: http://www.virtualcommander.com/
Battletech Simulator is a simulator which does BT in slow simulation style. While incomplete and buggy, it is notable for having available as enemies and as playable units 'Mechs, vehicles and infantry, all in a single game.
The project didn't update since 2009, unfortunably. Also, the default controls are a bit weird

Anyone Remember Battletech Simulator?

Does anyone still have demo 14? If so - could you upload it somewhere please?

there is a download page on the site linked to in the OP, I just downloaded and installed it, now trying a first mission..
Do you mean that the site still available for you? That's strange - I can't open it. I though that it was dead for quite a long time. I can only open it using web cache, but download links don't work in this case.

I have a mod for Demo 14 if y'all are interested. I changed some of the laser/ppc colors and sound effects
I provide a link later.

And what about Battletech Simulator itself? ^__^

I guess developer lost interest for the project. Well at least Blender Battletech is still in development if I understand correctly.

I successfully downloaded demo 14 from the site listed in the OP and it does run under Windows 7 Pro 64bit
